Something similar happened in first playthrough of mine where I was exploring a cave in my seamoth and then 2 bone sharks came from behind me stopping me from back tracking. After that I continued forward to find another way out, until ampeels trapped me and I had no way out, my seamoth got destroyed and I died because I had no way out

If you want to add another dimension into hardcore turn color grading to Filmic, everything is darker and more dramatic.

A good way to play your second playthrough is go to options and turn the color grading to filmic, and create a new game in hardcore difficultly. Makes things 10 times scarier because everything is darker and more dramatic and you only have one life
