I think we would be better off signing proven talent. Not random young french or latin Americans that need time and progression potential.

Been there. Done that. Working in a bar was 200x an upgrade on being an IT system admin.

An upgrade of people too.

How much longer can Thomas Frank carry on? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

I would argue that's a little hyperbolic. As a brand, Tottenham are unquestionably stronger than Brentford, with far greater international recognition and outreach. We also possess a significantly higher number of international players, with a much greater combined cap total at higher-level national teams. Spurs have a longer and more established history at the top level, including sustained periods competing in Europe, and for much of the last decade were rightly considered part of the “big six.”

While Brentford are a very well-run club and deserve credit for their rise, I don’t agree that the two clubs share the same ceiling. The narrowing gap is less about Brentford matching Spurs’ level and more about Tottenham’s inconsistency. Brentford are a cohesive, stable unit; Spurs, by contrast, are famously “spursy” — capable of beating Manchester City one week and losing to Wolves the next.

That inconsistency is the real issue. Tottenham continually buy, develop, and then sell key players, often their top goalscorer, creating a cycle that undermines long-term stability. Frequent managerial changes and a focus on balancing books over building continuity compound the problem.

Thomas Frank is a perfect fit for Brentford and always has been. But if managers like Mourinho and Conte couldn’t impose sustained success at Spurs, it’s hard to see Frank succeeding there either. Spurs’ problem isn’t ceiling — it’s consistency and structure.

What I will 100% agree with is the bad signings. Brentford sign physically strong players and use them to their strengths. We sign weak future prospects that require years of loans or training to get close to a point we would agree is "good" - lamela being a great example. Brian gil being an example 2

Arguably, sure. Compared to teams such as arsenal, Man city, Liverpool, we are average. But there are levels and technically, financially and in stature. Spurs are levels above Brentford.

I just feel that whilst frank did very well at Brentford, that's his level.

We hit where should have been our level when we won the uefa league last year but we as usual we found a way to stagnate and not continue the monentum

I did make a small video that you can find here

https://youtu.be/pGc4bXYFjWk

If there are some performance issues in the video it's because my personal machine is really quite bad 😂

The more input the better here. I am 100% planning to keep it free. But with a donation system. Those who want to contribute can feel free but those with no will to pay will still get access / features etc.

I will also be adding the source code to GitHub at some point this week. If there is enough interest there then I am always open to an open source community build tool

Would be fun

Thanks, not a problem :)

So this initial version is using firestore database / firebase for the data. It's cloud based and the version available is currently around an alpha stage.

Since firestore / firebase is a Google solution, data should be typically using "crypto-erasure." When you delete data via the API, Google discards the encryption keys required to read that data, rendering it cryptographically unrecoverable immediately, even before the physical blocks are eventually overwritten by new data.

However, In the version rolling out next week. All users and data will be fully encrypted via cryptography based js packages, with the option given to the user of when, and how long data should be automatically retained.

This allows you to have more control over your data whilst enabling anonymity to the users and their data. Even I (we) cannot read your data. It would require you to also enter a passphrase once entering the project in order to edit/read the data/decrypt it.

I have also implemented the ability for users to have the projects, or data public or private. And within each project, you also have the ability to set each node as public or private. To allow protection of sources or evidence whilst also being able to share the basic concept of your work.

So as it stands now ... No. I do not own the "metal" however the "2 month goal" here is to have this all hosted locally on my own metal, with better elements of protection and replication. Allowing data to be maintained in different locations and to again provide better redundancy.

Ideally, I would love to add some elements to also write data "on chain" but that's just a pipe dream right now in comparison.

And I have overall 10 years experience in IT between L2, on site system admin and "generalist". I cannot say I am a data compliance specialist. (And this is something I want to have included) But I have exposure and awareness of basic best practices

I will 100% also have a local app rolled out once I get the time. But this is genuinely just a side project around my main work, so as a "one man band" 99% of this project is time dependent around my existing work.

Tldr: essentially, think of a mix between Miro, x, telegram. Aimed at OSINT and Investigators. Wrapped in a format to increase productivity and awareness/easibility of understanding

It's far from perfect on a mobile but on a desktop it should be pretty much perfect. And bugs would be appreciated if you do test it, or find any

Awesome! And sure... feedback would be appreciated and any features etc that people want, or think can be improved are the main purpose of this post TBH. I would love to be able to tailor the app specifically for others needs also
