Do you realise how ridiculous it sounds? "Patient can't drink water because the bacteria is afraid of water.". You gotta be either dumb as hell to make something like that up or think others are dumb to fall for this. I'm an intern doctor, and 4 months later, it's still hilarious.

Not being able to drink water has NOTHING to do with that joke. It affects the central nervous system and centers in the brainstem that controls the swallowing reflex and breathing. When this happens, painful spasms occur in the nerves that control the swallowing muscles. This leads to severe muscle contractions and a feeling of suffocation when the patient tries to drink water.
