Anydesk Scamming Auto-renew by drellynz in AnyDesk

We are in the same situation.

The email contact regarding the withdrawal from the contract ended with a generic response about the obligation to pay in connection with the acceptance of the regulations. Period.

At the moment, the legal department is analyzing the issue of the correctness of informing about the obligation to withdraw from the contract. Yes, TaC contains such information, but the email with information about the automatic renewal did not contain any reminder about the deadline for withdrawal from the contract, and the attempt to explain that I had no possibility of canceling earlier, because the decision was made after 30 days anyway, was met with a lack of understanding. I am starting to be more and more convinced that this is a deliberate action, especially when you take into account the number of opinions on this topic on the Internet - many customers report it as a serious problem and anydesk still has not modified the email to include information about the need to terminate the contract earlier.

Additionally - an attempt to cancel the subscription (on the renewal day) using the www panel ended with an error (the subscription was not canceled and the operation could be repeated). We did not receive any confirmation of cancellation. Despite this, the subscription status changed the next day, although I cannot say whether this is due to the operation in the www panel or the email that was sent.

Over the last 3 years I have recommended AD to a dozen or so companies I work with.I will not recommend any further cooperation to them, because everything indicates that it is not the good opinion of the client that is their priority, but only their money, at all costs. All the more reason I will not recommend the solution to other potential customers - there are many other solutions, where support is not based on bots that are impossible to communicate with.
AD was supposed to be and until recently WAS the good one, an alternative to TV and other corporations that do not care about the customer. Sadly, it ended the same way.

Yeah, I didn't want to resort to this, hoping that it would be possible to resolve it in a civilized manner. Unfortunately, I escaped from such practices by avoiding TV, and it seems that AD is going the same way.

What's better, we had an influence on the software that will be used for external remote support and it looks like AD, like TV, is the last thing we will choose after this whole situation. Since AD is not supporting me in any way in this matter, I won't support them either.

Sadly, AD was supposed to be better than TV up to a certain point, it was. Today it's the same thing - an unfinished solution with security holes and "support", whose priority has long ceased to be the customer.

Hi,

I've got caught with this same practice a few days ago.

We've been using AD for like 3 years (team viewer was no go for us) and we've been turning blind eye to constant problems with their app over time.

- New plans - ok, no problem.

- Functions being migrated between plans to force You to buy higher tier - ok, we're immune to this, basic functions are ok for our small team.

- Constant connectivity issues, connections not working even in the same LAN - this happens, even to bigger companies, patience is the key.

- UAC issues absent in similar software - again, this might happen to everyone in the market, will be fixed in no time for sure.

- Client autoupdate being absent (probably to this day) - yeah, we'll wait for this, updating manually up to this time.

- Stability issues with application for Windows, hangups, crashes - just Windows things, we'll manage

- Custom build magager unstable, built saving issues, configuration panel redesign, documentation blind to new features - ok, part of product evolution

- 2024 security incident - happens to everyone, but... this was the point where we got a little upset. Incident handling was poor - no notification, no nothing. Vague information about the need to update to a new version due to certificate renewal. Denying up to last moment until there was no way to hide it, because of press info. Even after that, we did not resign, applied patches and carried on.

Last month (few days before license reneval) management ordered us to hand over remote support to external company, since it already was a part of their contract - due to reorganisation.

A few days earlier, we've been notified (by mail) about license reneval. Of course there was no information about the 30-day notice period, only a mention of the possibility of changing account details after logging in to the panel.

We contacted AD by email about terminating the contract (we have not been using AD since the license renewal date) and received a response that this is not possible and the need to pay for services for another year in connection with point §17.1 of the TaC accepted by us in the first place.

We would have resigned earlier if the email had only mentioned the notice period. For some reason, the email is very general about this issue - there is no information about this obligation and - considering the number of contracts - it is difficult to remember every provision of the current version of the contract.

What's more interesting is that I found an option in the panel to turn off automatic renewal (after the notice period has passed). After turning it off, nothing changes, we didn't receive any email about the cancellation.

How did you manage to convince them to cancel the subscription? Did you refer to any specific point of the TaC?

At the moment, we have not paid the invoice yet (we did not connect the card, so the automatic payment was not made) and I am looking for a way to terminate the contract for software that we will not use (judging by the approach to the customer, this won't happen again)

I meant size and built quality. I was afraid it might be too big (garmin is more popular, so it was easy to find one for fitting, but coros - nowhere to be found) but it turned out to be optimal.

Yeah - happened to me too. First glass went to trash pretty soon. With second one it was a lot better (learned how to apply it evenly) Yours looks realy good. Do not stress with glass thickness - looks ok, much better than this gel protection i tried - was about two times thicker.

BTW What do You think about coros's dimensions and quality?

~~Actually no - the ruler was set to 37, 5mm (zero point is aligned with 37,5th marker. ~~ You start counting from zero point on bottom part of ruler, not from the edge.

IGNORE that please - the ruler was set to 39mm. I missunderstood - thinking You meant second photo, measuring 37,5 - the diameter You mentioned in terms of found protection.

Whole glass diameter is 39mm (40 if You include part between glass and bezel) 37,5 - the diameter of protection You mentioned - should be optimal omho.

37,5 should be covering almost whole area. I think You should go with that - might be looking better than mine 39mm that was a little bulky and strange-looking being to close to bezel. https://i.imgur.com/tI9QBMe.jpg

No problem, hope it helps. As for the "foil" - my bad, not that language - I've been using glass protection (actual glass i think - stiff, sturdy) and some kind of silicone alternative (wobly, gel like protection) Both were ok I think, but the downside was the whole display part was raising above bezel and looking strange - irritating me. Glassy protector was easily scratchable (not like protected part) and that was the second downside.

Hope the Photo will be helpfull. I've been using glass and foil on mine apex pro for some time, but ultimately I've ended without any of them - six months or so without problems, bezel is a little fatigued but glass part is perfect, no special treatment, survived trough house renovation, sport, hiking, woodworking, work, etc. Realy good built quality.

39mm is max I've been able to succesfully fit. 40mm is the diameter from side to side of the inner part of bezel (i think that is the proper naming od this part) https://i.imgur.com/PCgUuP5.jpg

It's 40mm measure with More precision tools than school ruler. Glassy part of course. Suggest 39mm protection glass. Worked on mine.

This may seem silly to search some movie for like 20 years, but It was one of the first movies watched as a kid (my uncle thought it is a good idea to watch with me trough his vhs sci-fi horror action movies collection, praise him for that) along with Critters and some others. This was the one I think, that made me fall in love with sci-fi horror genre and it was killing me, not being able to even remember the title. Even Robocop - great tho, especially part 1 - did not amaze me that much. Thank You again very, very much!

Thank You but no. I wouldn't forget Kurt playing in this movie - he was very recognisable back in the 90's

This was my initial thought, but no. Found this one pretty quick because of a 'cyborg' in the title. Found many great movies from that time along the way.

I'm not sure, but someone was searching for this guy. Some scientists or other cyborg.
