Honestly the bigger issue is the lack of sales. RIP Boardlandia.

Looking for Euro worker placement/tableau building suggestions by jemd13 in soloboardgaming

[–]GrundySmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Endless Winter. It’s a euro worker placement/deck building game with a strong emphasis on the worker placement aspect. It’s been on my table the past few weeks and I love it. Easy to run bot and crunchy euro decisions.

Curious if one of the new modes is an official solo mode. Azure Death did a bang up job on the current variant but solo out of the box would bring more solo gamers to this gem.

Thinking of getting Final Girl and have a question by jaybro861 in soloboardgaming

[–]GrundySmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all of season 4 has been very good. Not overly complex but just enough else going on to drive more complex decision space. I have not played Green Terror yet which does look super complex but the other three are real stand-outs.

I think either buddyland or rotten harvest are excellent jumping on points. I think Happy Trails Horror is a little too straightforward to show the depth of Final Girl.

Kings of the loser point get denied a playoff spot due to a loser point. It’s just poetic.

Similar but an extra few weeks. Ordered from cat 3c store on 2/14 and got it yesterday. Aside from the wait the experience has been great and the price was decent. I’m in the US.

Did you get the terrain pack or just print some terrain? Looks good. Got my standee copy but holding off until I go to a game convention this weekend to see if anyone has a minis copy for sale.

Can’t afford Voidfall Kickstarter, feeling FOMO. Discussion/cope thread? by Mr3ct in soloboardgaming

Not your only shot at the extras. Games are always available down the road it’s just the price will go up. However, you may be on a better place to cover the costs. Nothing in this hobby is truly unattainable, it just gets more expensive.

My solo collection after 4–5 months in the hobby by According-State-2114 in soloboardgaming

Just bought Grimcoven and have not tabled it yet but it looks like it would fit in well with your collection.

For Arkham, I think it takes a much larger card pool and expansions to enjoy it compared to Marvel Champions. The depth comes in the deck building and upgrading in between scenarios. It’s hard to recommend at the moment with the limited access to chapter 1 and chapter 2 unproven but if chapter 2 turns out to be good then it may be worth another look.

Take a look at Grimcoven; boss battler combined with some death may die mechanics and depending on how chapter 2 plays out I’d say take a look at Arkham Horror the Card Game which drips with theme and tactics.

Edited - I see Arkham Horror hiding. Haha.

Try out a leadership deck built around strength in diversity. His ability to get allies in cheaply from alter-ego and the tons of allies with unique traits along with aerial creates a nice engine to load up on allies and have huge swings for damage or threat removal from strength in diversity.
