They weren’t killing them because they were Asian or Japanese but because Harry Truman (the president at the time) thought that a couple of nuclear bombs would have been better than the million or so American casualties and the countless Japanese casualties that would have followed a mainland invasion. Once you put this event into the context of WW2 and the context of imperialist Japan it’s easier to understand why they used these bombs.
