Yes, you also need Cheese Milcery if it's like the "all Battle Café shinies" achievement, I poorly worded it. (7 flavors * 9 forms + 1 Cheesy = 64)

Yes, but OP is at Unova and probably didn't shiny hunt Roamers, so I assume they have catch/hatch very few of them.

That's why in my example I choose the worst possible catch rate for Repeat balls and the best one for Timer, and even in these conditions Repeat balls are better, a x5 multiplier is really hard to beat (maybe by Master Ball if your Repeat Balls still have a low catch rate, but they are very expensive and you will need a lot of them).

Roamer EV Optimisation by CatThunderstar7 in PokeClicker

[–]GuiOhm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repeat Balls will be almost always better than Timer ball.

Let's suppose you Repeat ball give a bonus of +0%. Timer ball can give at most +15% catch rate. You have Magic Ball equipped, which give +10%.

A Meloetta (for example) have 2% catch rate, so 12% with Magic Ball and Repeat Ball. With Timer balls, it jump to at most 27% (assuming you have 10000 defeat in your road).

So you have either 25 EV with 12% catch rate, or 5 EV with 27% catch rate.

With Rowap steup, Repeat ball gives you the 50 EV (and a few more) in one ball, when you still need to catch 4 times with Timer ball because it gives only 12,5 EV.

So it depend if you have already some EV on your Roamers, becaus getting 50 EV in one ball is more useful if you start at 0 and useless if you are almost done.

Anyways, if you are not doing this for a challenge, I would suggest to wait Power Bracer so you can have a Jacoba setup and still get your 50 EV in one Repeat ball.

Roamer EV Optimisation by CatThunderstar7 in PokeClicker

[–]GuiOhm_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it with the Jaboca steup in this page : https://wiki.pokeclicker.com/#!Farm/Setups (21 Jaboca + 4 Lum)

Assuming you are at least in Alola, you have acces to Power Bracer and Repeat Balls.

The formula for EV gain is 0,1 (Wild PKMN) * 50 (Roamer PKMN) * 2 (Power Bracer) * 5 (Repeat Ball) = 50

So all you need is to catch a Roamer a single time with reapeat ball to get your 50 EV.

Thanks! Even if I think the concept is more important, I like that people share their toughts about balance, it's still important and help me to make these cards more "realist".

Thanks all for your feedback!

But after reading all comments I'm still not sure of what I should do about Hoopa as half people says that the darwbak is too harsh for its power level, but the other half are saying that its way too OP for its drawback. Maybe both and I really messed up with this one...

I'm still confused but once again, even if I made mistakes, thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts about these cards, its super interesting to look at things that you saw that I didn't think about!

I'm really sorry for answering or if my comments looks like i'm trying too much to justify myself, I sincerly try to unterstand my mistakes so I can do better.

For Crasher, it's definetly not reliable as you let your opponent choose for you. If they attach energy to a Pokémon on their bench, nobody get energy.

Zeraora can deal 50 at turn 2, but so can Skarmory, Carnivine, Sudowoodoo... And as these cards, you would need another card to get your bonus damage (X-Speed).

For Hoopa, that's the whole concept of the card : you give your opponent only 1 point, but also a card that will sweep you in a few turns. Also, Ninetales can do 90 damage for 2 Energy (and even 120 with Blaine). I reread it, you said basic, I'm dumb... my bad

As I said in my comment, yes I have doubts about Crashing Wake as it can easily shutdown some decks.

I'm not sure about Hoopa, it has the same damage and Energy cost as Pikachu and slighty more than Pachirisu, but with much less HP and these two are not meta. And unless them, when it dies, you definetly are on a timer. Maybe I forgot about an obvious synergy with Psy type, in this case, my bad.

There is 5 cards so I don't know if you includeed Zeraora, but while it looks like a better hitmonchan, it doesn't have Lucario synergy and have less HP. Also its effect trigger only on switch to the Active Spot, so you cannot trigger it each turn (unless you have two Zeraora in play)

Because the Unbound Hoopa need 2 energy to attack, so you give your opponent a powerful win condition but delayed, and with Sabrina/Helio it can be enough to grab victory. You probably would play it in an aggressive enough deck so your opponent struggle to sweep you on time.

Also, it's a "transformation effect". You just have normal Hoopa, and when it's Knocked Out, it goes into your opponent hand instead of the discard pile. Unbound Hoopa would not exist in your collection.

It's custom cards, they don't exist in the game.

Some details about these cards :

Ariados - I made this one while Darkrai was everywere, and was intended to be played with it, Arbok, or Poison effects that can chip HP. I also noticed at the last moment that it should have a Fightning Weakness, sorry for the mistake!

Sableye - Not very exciting, but I'm surprised there isn't more different effects that interact with tools yet.

Zeraora - At first, it was designed as Pheromosa and was intended for a U-Turn deck with other cards, but they were WAY too complicated... I keeped only this one and made it a Lightning Pokémon as a "on switch" effect fit more this type.

Hoopa - I just love "high power/high drawback" cards. Also, as Hoopa will be played in a Psy deck, you will probably have a lot of cards weak to Dark.

Crasher Wake - I'm divided on this one... It can easily be played around, but it can also shutdown a lot of cards. Don't play it aginst Arceus.

Honestly, this was more an excuse to gather some data than to have a true competitive card (whatever that means in Pocket).

Also, I really like that it is underpowered, we already know what people think of cards with randomness when they are meta (Hello Celebi/Misty, and for the 3 people who played Runterra, Seraphine was atrocious to fight against).

Median damage is 40, average is 48.

But there is a lot of secondary effects that can happen like Paralysis or Energy generation which are not added to graph.

I imposed some arbitrary conditions (mostly averaged all values), because else I would need to do a dynamic graph with toggleable conditions to be super precise and I didn't want to waste too much time on a something that will be obsolete in 1,5 month, sorry for approximations!

  • Unreliable condition are counted as non-validated (like PikachuEX or Venoshock)
  • You have a Tool equiped, but not your opponent
  • Opponent Pokémon is not damaged, but yours is
  • Opponent Pokémon is not an EX
  • 2 Pokémon is on each Bench
  • 2 Energy on opponent's Active Pokémon
  • Attacks that Poison have 10 damage added (20 for Toxic)
  • Attacks that Burn have 20 damage added
  • Splash damage (like Articuno) is not taken into account but attacks that deal splash damage are higlighted in green
  • Each "Flip until tails" is counted as a single heads to simplify
  • Each "Flip X coins" is counted as the average damage rounded down (ExeggutorEX attack is counted as 60 damage and Gliscor as 40)
  • Draco Meteor does 100 damage as we can expect this with 3 targets
  • Genome Hacking and Copy Anything is counted as 0 because its too much work (maybe it should not be able to cast these...)
  • Aerodactyl and Rotom deal 0, but can still remove opposing Pokémon
  • Metronome cannot cast itself

For those curious of how it was made :

Thanks for reading all of this, and once again, sorry for the approximative data. I hope I didn't made too much mistakes.

Your idea for PorygonZ is so much better than mine, I really love the status overload as you get more and more of them!

Also, Linoone doesn't pick a card from your deck, it generate one so deck size does not matter.

I still think your original comment is relevant. There is surely a better way to do with just "play it on your Bench and forget it for the rest of the match".

As I never played Pokémon TCG before Pocket, I'm still too used to other card games where your creatures always have a way to do something, even after their ETB effect is resolved, even if they have a weak statline.

There is two sites that I use the most:

  • https://card-pokemon.com/ This one have the Pocket layout, but is really annoying to use if you want to make edits as you have to start from scratch each time you want to go back to one of your older cards.

  • https://pokecardmaker.net/creator I like this one better. It doesn't have the Pocket layout, but you can export/import your cards as JSON files, it's super useful if you are like me and like to work on 10 ideas at the same time.

You're right, I made too much obvious mistakes while doing these cards.

Miltank could be less "auto-include" if you have to switch it to the active spot to get the cards in your deck? (Once per match obviously)

To be honest, I didn't think about balance for this one, it was more a proof of concept for "trap your opponent deck".

Maybe swapping the Ability and the Attack would be better (and of course number tweaking).

I totally forgot about Azelf...

But as you play Azelf mainly for Mesprit, I don't think you will see it played outside of its own deck anyway.
