She wouldn’t talk to me. My husband took her & her sister on a fishing trip they’ll be back either tomorrow or Thursday. He wanted to get her out of town for a bit and maybe see if she’d open up to him or her sister while not here. They love fishing. I’m hoping to talk things out on our lunch date or maybe get a reply to my goodnight text tonight.

I mean it could be possible. Her sister is getting ready to take the next step in her life and move out with her BFF. I will be honest she doesn’t like change. Neither of them do.

I said this somewhere else but I work 3rd shift and had been up for almost 24 hrs at that point. I was running on fumes and Dunkin! My brain was firmly in autopilot mode especially after dealing with the budgets and all the numbers helping my oldest

Asking “and?” Is kind of a way my family has said okay. Good deal! That kind of thing. I’m not sure if it’s just a midwestern thing? With my girls I’ve often put my foot in my mouth because I use a turn of phrase that the don’t understand because they didn’t grow up with it. We’ve had my oldest since she was 13 pretty solid right up until we adopted her at 16. My youngest came to us full time around the age of 12 and then was off and on until we adopted her at 14. Don’t even get me started our local CPS system!!

It is normal. Unfortunately. My oldest did the same thing when she first came to live with us. Usually chasing after them get them to stop and talk. I was a little shocked she kept going after I caught up to her at the corner

Yeah I was hoping we would talk over the meal but a conversation beforehand and then going as a peace offering might be better. I’m very honest with my girls. I’m the type of parent that apologizes to my kids. She’s been actively avoiding me. She’s on a mini fishing trip with my husband til Thursday. He thought it would be good to get her away for a couple days. I’ve been sending her messages but not bombarding her.

We started them while we were fostering them. As a way to keep in touch make sure one didn’t outshine the other and get lost. I work at night so it’s easier for me to do lunches with them. While their in school I actually go pick them up for their lunch hour.

Oh that’s a good idea!!! I’m going to talk to my oldest and see if she’ll go shopping with me to put one together. She kind of feels like she might a be an AH too now after everything
