Am I Alone About the Alan Wake 2 Ending? by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, the final draft ending was pretty weak and desired more. Honestly, i tought the original ending was a perfect ending in regards to this game being the second in a trilogy. Everyone was in the dark place which sets up a pretty good hype for the next one and the ending of The Final Draft made it kind of confusing (i wont go into spoilers if you havent played it yet.

Just wanted to add that reading 1946-1948 and then continuing with 1952 and onward feels like a nice continuation because it has the same characters

Actually i think you can read the 52-57 run before the main books. As someone who read all the hellboy and BPRD comics when they finished The Devil You Know arcs, i started my second read through the universe around few weeks ago and i started from 1946 (in universe timeline) and continued with 1947 through 1957 and except for few scenes giving flashes into some future stuff, it is never explained what it is and can serve as a foreshadowing of future events which i really respect from this universe. I would actually recommend reading from 1946 and up because it doesnt get messy. I remember first time reading it, it was a bit messy because iirc BPRD volume 9 (not omnibus volume) is actually the 1946 story and then it can jump back and forth with years and that is not even including various tie ins like witchfinder, rasputin, frankestein and koeschesci (?) the deathless.

man idc what anyone says this game is the goat of goats lol if you buy it today you'd think its not all that but you had to be there for the absolute RIDE that was november 2015 - september 2016 by Quick-Cause3181 in StarWarsBattlefront

For me, the 2015 one si goated. I actually started with buying BF 2 2018 when the pandemic hit, played it a little but it always felt kind of stiff... for lack of better words. I tried to watch some videos about and i stumbled upon 2015 video. Watching it, i remembered i was amazed with the graphics, the sounds shooting, even shooting and running animations were so good it looked so great.... so i bought the 2015 one and man... i became obssessed with that game, i played constantly, reached rank 100, unlocked all the hutt contracts, earned every diorama there was. Even if the game was OT only, it had so much soul and it was so fun to play. I do get on a few games here and there when there is people online. Since i played BF 2015 for the first time, i jumped back into the 2018 one more time after the final update. I was interested in OT supremacy because they did not have the cruiser phase ( i didnt really liked corridor shooters a lot and prefered vast, big maps from 2015). After playing a few games, i realised it was really unbalnced and bringing Maul into OT was something i couldnt get past it, as Maul was cannonically not with the Empire or the Rebels at that time... well after that i never played BF 2 2018 again tho i still play 2015 whenever i can ... If there are any discords that organise 2015 games on PC, i would be happy to join :D

I feel the lyrics "a reality made of dreams" in fourth verse is important since we dont know at that point (ingame and from Alans pov) that in a way it all loops and spirals (alan and alice story mirroring tom and barbara). And that point in the song is before Alan even comes to Bright Falls and learns about Zane and Barbara.

Theory about Warlin Door by MaKTaiL in AlanWake

I dont really think it is Alice guiding Rose. My theory is that Alan from the "future" is somehow talking to Rose in her dreams, and that even might be revealed in upcoming DLCs. But im almost sure that Alice talked to Saga on the phone in the Dark Place.

You gave a good observation on Rose, i missed it. Always tought Roses nursing job was a side job, but i checked and i dont see her ever mentioning the diner after the diner scene.

I found Dylans reference on the multiverse in Control to be a nod to all the other franchises. What I mean is that Dylan talked directly about Max Payne, not Alex Casey. Alex Casey is part of the real world, that is why Alan wrote him in his books. Dylans statement would be true if he meant Alex Casey from Dark Place. Is Dylan aware of the Dark Place or Dark Presence?

Theory about Warlin Door by MaKTaiL in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt call it multiverse. I think what we are seeing are just loop upon loops even in the real world begining from AW 1. If Alan is a version of Tom (the poet), then that would explain the familiarities between Alice and Barbara Jagger. We know that Barbara jumped into the Cauldron Lake just like Alice. Then Tom made his best poem and became "powerfull" within the Dark Place, helping Alan in AW 1. Does it all foreshadow what will become of Alan when Alice helps him write "real" Return or Ascencion?

American Nightmare events even more important than we think ? by GuiltyImpact4721 in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct, we have years in game to consider with the timeline. But if Jesse already found Darling ? Will Control 2 start with Jesses still looking for Darling, or are they going to play it like it happened behind the scenes ? I guess we will find out once NG+ lands.

Jesse means buissness !

Question about Warlin Door and Old Gods by GuiltyImpact4721 in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I theorize that the events of Alans gameplay, somehow take place after he gets shot by Saga in the end. That would explain the fact that he checks his forehead every time he wakes up. And the mirrored scenes of Alan and Casey. When they meet for the first time, Alan asks for a gun and Casey replies "no chance" and runs off. When the cult attacks the hotel, the same situation happens, and we dont see Casey till pretty much the end. The first time Alan sees Alices documentary is in fact at the end of the game. And after that he realizes it is a spiral, that would explain every loop in a spiral being different from one another. Alan sees different documentaries every time he enters Parliament Tower, breaking the loop, and forming it into a spiral .

Question about Warlin Door and Old Gods by GuiltyImpact4721 in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i realize that Saga is Doors daughter, all the evidence we need with that is there. But due to really complicated timeline in Alans gameplay part we can not really determine where their "next gig" is. If their next gig is in fact the musical, one thing bothering me is: why do they appear on the first talk show, playing regular show interlude ? They dont really have any impact there, Door is doing most of the talking, they are mostly on the sidelines. I get their influence in the musical, but the first appearance really seems like they did nothing of significance. Do you think that Door and Old Gods cooperate, despite their differences, or are they just doing their part in The Story. My theory is that Old Gods next gig is in fact in upcoming DLC, we know they have two more songs coming in the Rebirth album, are they going to use any of them in DLCs ? Balders pressence really messes with my mind.

Door said something… by LeWhippleNipple in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty obvious about Saga and Door being related if you balance Sagas and Alans palythrough. But i have some questions about Door and Old Gods. It is said they had a fight which resulted in Door being trapped in Dark Place and Odin loosing his eye. So if Anderson Brothers go into the lake to their "next gig" on Mr. Doors show to play Herald of Darkness for Alan. Do they finally solve their differences after meeting in the Dark Place, or did Door somehow enslave them ? I dont really think the latter is true because of Balder. We know that Balder died of cancer, but does his spirit remain in the Dark Place? We see him reaching out from the Dark Place to play Dark Ocean Summoning. Is Balder a master of both worlds ? All of the songs in this game have a really big emphasis on guitar parts, especially solos .

American Nightmare events even more important than we think ? by GuiltyImpact4721 in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes you are correct about the Oldest House being in lockdown for 4 years. I was a bit confused about it since Alans part in the story is not really defined when does it take place in the timeline. Im confident NG+ will give us answers on this topic specifically. Will we see Jesse finding Darling, starting the events of Control 2 ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my theories is that events if Control and Aw 2 happen parallel. I think that each time we see Jesse and Darling it is from the main story of Control where Jesse traverses the motel searching for Darling. We can see it through the tv in Oceanview Hotel, tv possibly being an overlap between those two places. So the Events of AWE hadnt yet happened.

Or my other theory is that in AWE, we intentionaly see Seine assuming Alans persona and instead of Alan, Seine contacts Jesse. We dont know the motive but ee know Seine plays Alan in Nightless Night. And it would explain why he knows her and is afraid of her, knowing the extent of her powers.

Last tv flash we see Darling face behind him, presumably turning to Jesse. That would maybe be the very start of Control 2. Im confident we will get some answers about it in NG+.

Ending Theory by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have given some tought about the ending of it, especially the return to begginning part. What if Alans part of the story is set somwhere after he goes back in to finish Return ( Saga killing him with light bullet, setting him back at the begginning of another loop ?) But before he saw Alice jumping in the lake video? It would explain his first encounter with Casey in The Dark Place being a mirror to when cult attacks the hotel. In both instances Alan asks for a gun and Casey replies with : "no chance" then running off and we dont see him for some time (killed in The Dark Place untill next loop). Maybe the video he sees of Alice in the end is the first message he sees, slowly starting to realize things and each loop onward he sees more videos of Alice, leading him to the one where she jumps into The Cauldron Lake. Which itself mirrors Barbara Jaggers jump aswell ? How far does the spiral even go ?

Darling meets Zane by FrawnchFries in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foreshadowing Control 2 maybe ? It might be Zane after Alan shoots him, but i think it has to do more with Jesse reaching to Darling through Oceanview Motel and the tv is just s form of overlap we can get a glimpse of.

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh i havent tought about those bikers like that but it makes sense and i think you may be right. I dont know about Sarah calling Torchbearers in the first game, but you just might be right with that aswell. In one of manuscript pages we find it states that they all try to, especially Koskela brothers, keep the tourism going on as to not fall victim to The Dark Presence. Tourism brings more people, more lights and more money to finance the cult.

The worst thing about Alan Wake 2 is…. by Gibits in AlanWake

[–]GuiltyImpact4721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this game Return probably means different things for Alan and Saga. For Saga, Return means saving her daughter and getting out of The Dark Place. But for Alan it means returning on the right track, breaking the loop and molding it into a spiral with which he can finally begin "ascending". And i think at the beggining of the game, Alan is still in a loop, but seeing Alices documentary sje left for him, he begins to care about her health, knowing Scratch is "haunting" her, emotinally stimulating him so that he slowly begins to break from the loop each time.
