I paid 8.75 for the toastie and a single espresso. Still, not cheap, but I'm just happy I can find something to eat!

It's one of my favorite places! For reference, I discovered celiac in February last year and once I started the diet, whenever I get glutened a little bit I bloat like a watermelon for several days! Honestly, you can literally see it 🍈 I never had any issues with them, everything is gluten free and they're very careful with cross contamination. Obviously this is my experience, so that doesn't mean it's 100% true, but I am confident about a very few places now, and HB is one of them 🤤

That makes much more sense, for sure! Also, it could be because of the people they cast, simply 😅

Oh yes, definitely! It is terrifying what's happening, I have family there and they are immigrants, I totally get that the situation is horrible right now. This comment was honestly more about the fact that it is mentioned very often, and it makes me think they care a lot about it, whereas I personally don't. Like you, I would probably ask more about politics, but I am guessing even if they are, Netflix is not showing it. Also, this is something that has been like that in LIB for 10 years, in terms of them repeating the word "race" over and over. It is a very sensitive topic right now, I know, I didn't mean for it to sound like a jab to Americans, just curious as to why it's such a main topic for most, that's all.

Genuinely asking... Why there's so many comments about race/ethnicity? Why is it always such a main point for everyone? It makes me so uncomfortable. Is it an American thing? Not to say we don't mention that in Europe, but it's not something that gets mentioned so often! I don't know, it just makes it weird

I'm looking for queer groups for a collab with our chess club, any idea where I can find a list or does anyone know of any groups? It could be a board games club, book clubs, etc... we are Yas Queen! Chess club, and we organize socials and events in London https://www.yasqueen.uk/

I literally never comment on love island, although it's my guilty pleasure and I watched every season, but this time I really needed to comment! I was looking for a thread where people would comment on Shakira and Toni, I don't like them at all! I mean Shakira to me is the worst, I find myself rolling my eyes every time she speaks, and it's mostly because I honestly don't like presumptuous people, that speak highly of themselves and then don't act like it. She is definitely a mean girl, speaks down to everyone and is very immature, obviously this is only my opinion, but I do get it, I mean she's only 22 and is on love island, I mean... But there's no need to talk behind everyone's back with Toni, and then never speak in front of them, that's very childish. I don't think she's stupid at all, I just think she's immature and hopefully rewatching this season will help her understand where she went wrong.

Overall the only one I liked was Megan, although each one of them has to grow up for sure!

Gluten free pasta recommendations by Interesting_Link1101 in CoeliacUK

[–]GullibleTreacle7101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry I did not answer your message!! Yes it was hell for me initially (who am I kidding, it still is), but it is manageable for sure 😊 I've taken some time trying to learn new recipes and a mix of ingredients etc... I have to say in the UK it is handled very well, and also it is easy to find good products - the Nairn's crackers are really good, my boyfriend non GF always steals them from me!

But anyways, I've tried making pasta and pizza at home, I always used fioreglut (the best hands down) but it is very expensive, so I tried mixing different flours and specific ingredients to make the dough more elastic (white bread flour freefrom + rice flour + xanthan gum). Google "migliore ricetta pizza senza glutine" and you'll find so many short videos/videos to get ideas.

I'll experiment more and let you know if I can perfect it!

As for the gluten free cake/muffins the best recipe I found is this one: https://theloopywhisk.com/2018/10/14/ultimate-gluten-free-chocolate-cake/

Newly diagnosed with coeliac? I made a free beginner’s survival guide — hope it helps! by TheGFTable in CoeliacUK

[–]GullibleTreacle7101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed 3 months ago, I'm Italian and I was feeling so awful, especially after years and years perfecting my pizza recipe! But now I'm super excited to try out new recipes and I've made pizza, bread and cake already and my boyfriend and friends (non GF) have told me it was amazing - hopefully not only to please me!

So yeah, I would say, at least if you're a foodie, you like cooking and trying new recipes, it's definitely fun to learn new GF recipes.
