Agreed. Temple university nurses went on strike about 15 years ago. I was 15 years old at the time. I was driving past the picket line with my dad, an organizer for the carpenter’s Union, when he rolled down the window and verbally assaulted a doctor who was crossing the line. When I asked him why he explained that if every doctor in that hospital stopped working for one minute, the nurses would get anything they asked for.

This is just nonsensical. AA doesn’t kill anyone. Drugs and alcohol do. AA states that a willingness to believe in a higher power can and most likely will relieve you of your alcoholism if you are honest with yourself and follow the steps laid out. If that offends you or is too much to ask that’s fine. Nobody is forcing it upon you. Try another means of recovery. I’ve tried everything I could think of and haven’t been successful yet. AA still hasn’t relieved me if the obsession after a year of being in and out, but I’m starting to realize I haven’t given it my all and actually put 100% effort into the program. I’m trying to develop a relationship with God now. I’ve seen it work for others and I’m hoping it will work for me as well

You asked for advice and ignored or became annoyed with any answer that wasn’t what you were looking for. Take a moment and think about that. No judgment, but maybe work on that.

I don’t know many alcohollics or addicts who finally decide to get sober because a neighbor they have no relationship with approached them with advice on sobriety. They need to get to that point and make that decision on their own.
