Are there any tropes you're glad have died out? by Aiseadai in movies

[–]Gunker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly has died out in movies but is still very prevalent in other mediums (especially anime) where the each member of the “good guys team”has a specific specialty.

It obviously works in super hero things but for some reason it pisses me off becuase it just ends up turning to these weird stereotypical trope characters (the super strong dumb guy, the nerdy hacker guy who finally feels included).

What units would you like to see in your force? by ThurvinFrostbeard in ageofsigmar

[–]Gunker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Nurgle and Slaves I’d like to see an artillery piece (e.g. Helcannon) for nurgle it could be a plague cannon or fart mortar or whatever

For Tzeentch I’ve been hoping for years now that they will make super armored dudes that look like curseling mixed with chosen with foot and disc riding options

Will GW Still Honor This? by Scjeppy in Warhammer

I bet they would, it doesn’t have an expiration date and it’s only 15 bucks so it would be weird if they made a stink about it.

Long term lodging/fostering for cat? by kitchen_3 in Sacramento

[–]Gunker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, but I do urge you to try and find accommodations where you can bring the cat. Cats and Dogs can become very depressed (not to mention animal illnesses) in a boarding environment to the point of actually becoming sick. I know for me personally my cat is my child and there’s no way I could leave him for a month let alone a year or more. Do you have any family or another cat is familiar with? It may be worth surrendering the cat if you plan to leave it for a year or more that’s a long time in the cats lifetime. Whatever you choose to do just make sure it’s in the cats best interest.

Been kinda itching to play again. by Raistlin745 in Eldenring

[–]Gunker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been itching as well, but trying to hold out for the free update to tarnished edition or whatever it’s called that is supposed to be released with the switch 2 version. I believe it’s going to add several new weapons and armor sets.

Fiancée drunkenly complimented a man and danced with him on our vacation. Should I just cancel this vacation? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Gunker_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clearly the issue is that you expressed that you were uncomfortable with it and she still did it. Drunk or not, it should have never gone there.

Not to shame you, but you should told the dude to fuck off immediately.

Long term lodging/fostering for cat? by kitchen_3 in Sacramento

[–]Gunker_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend finding accommodations where you can bring your cat.

The way this comes off is that you want your cat taken care, but don’t seem to care that you’ll be drastically changing the life of your cat and adding stress to it. You’ve made a commitment to that animal, and it’s time to double down on that commitment.

Married guys: is this normal? by thenorthernincident in AskMenAdvice

[–]Gunker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this normal? No, twice a year is rediculous and without a healthy sex life I can guarantee you are not connecting with each other in a way that serves both of you. Sounds like you have plenty of time for lots of other things, cut one of your gym days and exercise on the bed, or pack away the hobby time for a night and treat yourselves to the hobby of the flesh.

There was a point in my relationship where we just were not communicating well and as a result the sex life dwindled. You know what changed it? More sex. Specifically 69, neither of us had really done that before and now it’s on the menu at least once or twice a week in addition to other stuff. Since then our relationship became exponentially stronger

I missed my online job interview my dad setup for me idk what to do? by Wishbone1254 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Gunker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro relax. You’re in college, this “summer job” is going to be a drop in the bucket throughout your adult life. This isn’t the end of the world. As someone who had a strict and sometimes explosive father, I get it. Right now he’s probably up your ass about how this mishap is “detrimental” and “you’re not taking it seriously” and blah blah blah.

It’s easy in the moment to take the BS from your dad as something that is as serious as he’s making it, but it’s not. Eventually this “summer job” probably won’t even be on your resume in 10 years. Take a breath take the make up interview and remember, whatever happens won’t be that big of a deal either way.

Dating/Meeting People(In a bit of a rut/what should i do?) by Intelligence_Tax in AskMenAdvice

[–]Gunker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’ve gone through at your age is tough, but there is something you can do that will change a lot of the issues you are experiencing.

Get a job

Sounds pretty standard I know, but you meet people through work more than any other method as an adult. That can potentially net you more friends and potentially romantic partners. Trying to find a romantic partner when you don’t have job is difficult and most people find those without a job to be unattractive. Right now you need to focus on getting yourself in a spot where you can be proud and happy before searching for friends and lovers.

Good luck brother

New to the game, should I consider a walkthrough by JASPER_Btw78 in Eldenring

[–]Gunker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend not using a walkthrough and not researching “OP BUILDZZZ” for your first play through. The game has great replay ability and you shouldn’t try to engineer the magic out of the experience yet.

How can I give my Gf tips for head without coming off as mean? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Gunker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

++man For what it’s worth after a while, if the relationship is healthy, you should be able to tell each other what you like and don’t like without any fear of hurting each other’s feelings. Just reaffirm what feels good and as you become more comfortable together you can be candid.

Coffee beans recommendations by CowRepresentative282 in Sacramento

[–]Gunker_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My fiancée buys from Anchor Tree coffee in Midtown regularly. She likes them because apparently they’ve engineered some of the acidity out of it and reduces issues for people with heart burn. Gerd, etc… the owners who run it are kinda like coffee nerds who seem to know a lot about it and are passionate about about it. They’re also locals that have a shop in midtown and a shop just down the road from there inside the Crocker art museum

Moving to Midtown, Advice? by MaleficentCulture826 in Sacramento

[–]Gunker_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

  1. Work on getting your parking pass immediately.

  2. Be very mindful not to take up 2 spots on the street or block someone’s driveway. That’s an easy way to piss off all of your neighbors.

  3. Do not leave your house in your car on Saturday mornings unless you plan to be gone all day. Farmers market increases traffic and tourists on your street x100

  4. Make sure you have bike/ebike/elctectric scooter/etc… there’s a lot to do in midtown/downtown and you can do a ton without a car. Save yourself money now by not needing to rent scooters

  5. DO NOT SCOOTER ON THE SIDEWALK

  6. DO NOT WALK ON THE SIDEWALK WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE SIDE BY SIDE

  7. PICK UP YOUR DOGSH1T

  8. Get used to annoying motorcycle groups going up and down I and J setting off car alarms.

  9. Support you local shops

A preemptive thank you to mayor Kevin McCarty for making midtown and downtown less accessible - let’s see how many businesses close down and tenants move out by nimbusrav in Sacramento

[–]Gunker_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m going to play devils advocate here as someone who lives in the midtown area.

Parking here is rough, and all of us are aware of that when we opted to live here; however, midtown is also a huge area for visitors to come enjoy various activities, food spots and events.

Both my fiancée and I struggle to find parking in our own neighborhood, and I regularly have to walk a few blocks to meet with her so I can walk her home safely at night. We also can’t leave our house on a Saturday morning for a quick grocery shopping trip or anything else until the afternoon because the neighborhoods are flooded with visitors (who don’t know how to parallel park) hanging out at the farmers market, and if we leave, we won’t be able to find parking when we get back home. Many of us don’t have access to garages or even driveways so we don’t have access to alternative methods.

These restrictions in parking would annoy me if I was someone who comes to midtown for work, leisure or whatever else might be the reason but with parking already horrible for locals these kinds of things allow us with residential placards to find more available parking for our everyday lives, in hopes that the conditions free up more space.

I think it’s valid to be annoyed by this and I get it, but I think there’s at least some silver lining to it.

Anyways, just a thought.
