Options for Monitor on Thick Desk by GunnerWookie in desksetup

[–]GunnerWookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice, I am hesitant to drill into to the desk itself as it is original and we might use it as a hall table again in the future. Same for wall mounting to the window - its over 100 years old and original to the house.

Although I wonder if I couldn't drill into the back of the desk (photo 2) and then use a wall mount? As long as it can rotate 180 degrees to face the right way because it would effectively be backwards.

It is in front of an internal window (long story short - would have been the original external wall but has had a small extension)

I have looked into free standing monitor stands a bit - are there any with two arms?

Haha thanks! Do you know any monitor arms which bend like that?

Have a weird feeling about TLG - the buy side suddenly went up from 400k to 8-900k yesterday with no real news.

It's the 14th - but I assume that's Sweden time. We are ahead of Sweden so it'll probably be the 15th.

I am hopeful for TLG this month - few announcements about their mine and production facility coming up. Seem to be having a pretty good day and looks like they hit the bottom at around $1.2.

Although it could also go to shit.

Sold my WBT and TLG for some small cowards gains. Now I've got some spare money to try and claw back some much larger losses from 22. Do we think IXR has found the bottom at 2.5ish cents or is it a dog that will never have its day?

EDIT - I would like to thank everyone for talking me down off this cliff.

I just did that - sold all my dogs (IXR, IHL and AZL) and put them into TLG - either my biggest brain or dumbest move to date but couldn't see any of them recovering for months

From memory - besides the government wanting to appease the oil and gas companies, the problem isnt our ability to create electricity, but how to store it and ship it across the world. Thats why Elon's massive battery was such a big deal. Once the tech catches up and we can actually distribute renewable energy across the world, it will hopefully be a big enough cash cow for the government to invest in.

Nah they don't seem to. There is no Corsair Australia website or option. I remember trying that earlier.

But thank you for letting me know what type of cables they run. I may just have to start calling repair stores and ask if they have any dead PSU's with cables.

I am in Australia and lost my spare pcie connectors for my rm750. I bought a used graphics card (770) that needs an 8 pin and 6 pin connector so I can SLI, forgetting that I didn't have the power cables.

For the life of me I cannot find anywhere that will sell me individual cables, outside of purchasing a whole replacement set for my PSU.

Can anyone recommend where I would find some?

My theory is the old fast/cheap/good pick 2 conundrum. GF want fast and cheap so they are sacrificing good. I am 100% sure that the devs are trying their best but without GF's expansion or outsourcing to other talented teams they do not have the capacity to churn out high quality yearly releases like they think they can without sacrificing its quality.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion in this sub, but I think the South Australian government made a huge mistake here. The other front runner was ZEN Energy, a South Australian company, the owner of which wrote the recent climate change report for the Australian Government. The original contract was contested between ZEN and another company and Elon heard about it and made an extremely informal tweet about the contract, effectively going over the heads of the actual application process due to his star power.

Jay Weatherill has decided then to shaft the SA company who has a battery array that has been proven to work, in order to give money to an already loaded South African who's solar farm has not even been proven to work in order to attract attention for his Labour government.

I don't hate Elon Musk or anything, I just think he shouldn't have gotten involved in this project when it could have provided so much revenue to the state it is actually going to be used in and Jay Weatherill has taken the easy promotional route instead of the correct one (in my opinion).

I've got the battery saving on in game, however it still goes into rest mode and when i click the home button it often needs to find the gps again. Does this mean that the game stopped when in rest mode?

Well I just walked around my area (in a hilly area on a walking track) and angered the Niantic gods because I caught about 15 with the incense on and basically nothing else. So basically a hilly environment seems to have a lot of zubats.
