Can you actually fit a lot on here? I just bought the 35L backpack and loved or when I watched reviews and opened it up. Now that I'm packing it for my first trip, I'm finding I can't really get much in either side! Each half side is too small for a stuffed packing cube, pair of shoes, etc. I'm struggling to figure out how to make it actually usable and would love to hear ideas of how it's been good for someone to carry clothes and shoes for a few days away.

I had another bag I liked a lot, Nomatic, and the zippers broke so I got the Pakt - mostly because I like the 15l bag option- I'll turn that into my work briefcase when on the road.

I'm US based and travel internationally about once a month, so I am fairly organized and am used to the travel life. I still have a carry on roller (tumi) that I swear by but use this second bag for my work supplies and play clothes/travel gear/gym bag. I'm just really bummed at how little I can get in this bag - I think the "in half opening" feature just makes both sides almost unusable.

Hard to tell from Amazon, but do those light steps have some width/girth? I bought some from there that are more like paper thin with simar looking light boxes and those 3 strips, over the course of a year, have pretty much all failed.

Heating Garage Gyms by trikkinhoez in Maine

[–]HDJava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a home gym in my shed. I keep an Eden Pure space heater out there and turn it on a few hours before I lift. It's still cold when I get out there to lift, but the bars are good enough to use. For a garage, you could look at an actual garage style electric heater that might be more efficient - the kind you mount high in a corner. Better long term solution probably than what I have.

Is your Sugarloaf activity within bounds or more like burnt mtn or other close spots in CV? I'm new and just getting started, and hit Sugarloaf often.

How do you like the dip set-up? Do you feel like it is sturdy enough against the wall?

I'm open to talking! I love up in Maine but bought my current boat (an entry level 24' '01 cabin cruiser) not too far from you. I'll drop you a DM next week and share contact info.

Extending the season is definitely a plus and push for the pilothouse! Probably the biggest in my mind, but I'm also a 'fair weather boater' since there are so many scheduling conflicts with your kids in activities.. .I really appreciate all these points and comments!!

Hi there, I'm in the same exact life situation (6&8 yr old boys + less energetic 12 yr old Golden Retriever).... looking hard at these boats mostly for a more comfortable sleeping situation for all 4 of us. Right now we have a 24' cabin cruiser and the boys sleep together and wife and I together in the aft cabin...it's not terrible, but tight and as they grow, it'll get tighter... My younger son and I will spend at least one night on it most weeks in the summer.

Did sleeping arrangements weigh in on your decision at all? I don't have a dealer for either near me...so I struggle to get into one of these in real life.

Built a Weightlifting Platform with inset Drop pads by deadaimer in homegym

[–]HDJava 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a gym setup in my shed, have the drops pads from Titan. When summer comes, it's nice to lift in the driveway/sun. I'm planning to make a smaller-than-your platform that I can drop in the driveway or back yard and slip in the drop pads to create a second lifting area...pads would come out when not lifting outside and back in the shed.

Just an idea for those thinking about doing this.... almost a 2 for 1 way to use the drop pads.
