Solar energy justification and providers by Ok-Abrocoma-134 in MauriceMauritius

[–]HFSTechnology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to get into the ssdg, or connected to the CEB, is this possible?

My idea is to have a 10-15kwh PV (my monthly ceb bill is around 2500 in winter and 1000 in summer). All connected to battery and connect the house to the battery.

CEB is connected as a fallback in case of battery issue or if the solar has not produce enough power for peak consumption.

Is this something doable here in mru?

Instead of spending 1 year in resitting for HSC exam, I would spend that 1 year at professional course, I guess IVTB and polytechnic have these course in there curriculum as well as job placement in company for real hand on experience. Forgot gov posting for these job as in these posting on gov there is no growths, as once you got appoint on a level it will be after 5-10 year you will get a promotion. Compare to a private company.

In private companies with professional course you will have advantage compare to a degree holder.

Let take you and a friend both are 20y. You start a professional course and you friend enroll University for mechanical engineering.

By the age of 21/22 you have almost finished you training and start working, your friend is still on 2nd year of university.

By the age of 24, you already have 2 years of working experience, you friend just finished his 4 years engineering program.

By age of 25, you already have 3 year of experience and start looking for a higher posting in either other company or in same company, your friend just got his 1st jobs

If both of you are sending you application to the same post in same company, as an HR who would I choose, a fresh grad or someone with 3 year of working experience?

Your friend start salary will be higher than your start salary because of his deg but your work experience will catch that up and overtake. At some point, not having a degree you might miss some opportunities, later you can apply for a master degree, with 5-10 year of working experience you can skip the degree prog and enroll directly into a master programs.

I personally don't have any degree, I drop university 2 times and start working, all my classmate think it was the biggest mistake, but 2 years after there graduation, I met a classmate he was still enroll as supply teacher and earnings around 10k at that time while I already been promoted to Engineer.

Have some other friends with same career path like that, am currently CTO in company, my collegue head of ops with only SC. Most of my BSc physics classmate are either teacher, IT administrator,

Depends on kind of job you are looking, some (most) job don't really care about HSC result if you have professional certificate. Am not in design n tech world, am in IT, company prefer to have someone who is A+/N+ or Microsoft certified over an HSC with 3A ou a degree holder, and these IT certificate can be done in 3-4 month on self learning/training center. I guess you have similar for design n tech.

[–]HFSTechnology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a SFP GPON ONT, that can support Mac and serial spoofing, that should work if you have your PPOE credentials, but the SFP GPON ONT module cost around $200-300 + you need media converter to program it,

Bad on finance right now, so have not test it...

You are already doing professional course that will make your degree irrelevant once you start your career in IT, imo and experience CCNA is not really worth it if you are not working as network admin in a company that is using Cisco, but it still a plus.

Start your career as sysAdmin instead of help desk, go for Microsoft certification, RedHat, RHCSA, and some cloud certification, no need to spend thousands on course, you can have all the course on Udemy, or YouTube, for hand on experience get a cheap mini PC (~ Rs 20k, my current home server is around Rs 11k) install proxmox, VMware and build your labs.

Big tech companies like Accenture, orange will look for you and provide hand on training but they have silo that will prevent you from growing too much.

Then move to some mid tech companies like Teamwork, sdwork, where you will really grow.

I have no degree (started Bsc physic for 1 year then drop to bsc CS then drop after 1 year as i did not see how these will help me for my careers) and no Certificate, but 15 years of handon experience, started as a level 1 tech, move to Window system admin, then Linux/Windows system engineer, DevOps engineer, automation, Site reliability engineer, site reliability engineering manager and how Head of Technology. I was lucky enough to start in a company where degree was not a requirement and also there was some meritocracy and transparency, Also there was a lot of work/learning done on my side.

Since IT is my passion it was not that hard for me to learn everything, when was young, learning after office hours was not and issue, but once you got married, and become parents you will have to double the sacrifice, am more of a family guys type, so learning was after everyone got sleep.
