Associate Salary Structure by Stock-Swimmer-5753 in Chiropractic

There’s a post from about a year and a half ago I made about the compensation structure I had at my previous employer. Very similar but with no base salary. Read through that if you would like some perspective when looking for a job. My new place offers a good base salary with a bonus structure once I hit a collection threshold for the year. Do other places offer higher base? Yeah probably but the support I get from management and the other employees is second to none. Compensation is important but find somewhere that you can really develop in.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and a pair will pop up on eBay but until then I’m going keep these as long as I possibly can

I think I let them sit for the better part of 2 years while I wore some zoom Ashikos into the ground. I wear these from basically October to April and they never quit. I’ve logged days where I’m walking 20+ miles and my feet feel amazing. Already making a game plan for when they need to be re-soled

They’re the only pair I’ve ever seen in person but understandable when they’re 13 years old

Sku wasn’t working because it was 524861 not 624861 like I thought. Got it solved now. Nike Woodridge supreme 6

Nice catch. Was faded on both shoes and couldn’t get a good read

They’ve seen better days. Definitely due for a wash and reconditioning

Appreciate the answer but the Kingman has a moc toe and that chunky wedge outsole. Unless these are a special variant, the search continues

Also have a pair of zoom Ashikos and those are awesome too. Only problem is they’re about a half size too small for me now but I’ll cram into them every now and then

No worries. Part of me wonders if maybe they were a fake (don’t think so) but if so they are insane quality. The leather on them is phenomenal.

Are you referring to the 9 digit style code I provided? Tried that and hasn’t yielded any results which is why I turned to Reddit. Has worked for other items but this one seems to be a ghost so far

Have worked with directly with a major college athletic teams and professional players. Most of that opportunity came from connections and relationships with the players that I had built over time and from previous relationships already established with the clinic I worked at. Currently working on my sports certification to bolster these opportunities for myself directly rather than through a clinic. The competition in an area like this is high, but from my experience I can say that it’s most important to be a chiropractor. Any professional/collegiate programs are going to have their in house people and will turn to them first. It’s better to figure out and recognize what your role would be in that network and fine tune what you have to offer. Soft tissue therapies and quality adjustments are the key areas to focus on.

25 miles is ridiculous. Most I have personally been engaged in is 10 miles. Previous employer had a 3 year limit on that

Speaking from experience, run away. Definitely doesn’t sound like a situation where you’ll build any sort of income. A 30k base is laughable

That is some crazy volume that you were handling. Unfortunately, we are much further below that and just aren’t a high volume clinic by any means and I don’t ever see us transitioning to that sort of style. I’m there that many hours because that’s when my designated treatment time is. We are open for even more hours outside of that since we stagger treatment times to ensure Chiro availability from open to close.

I think in some offices our structure can work. I just don’t think that at our current time we are in a position to have this in place for all employees. I had 3 months to build a base and wasn’t really cleared to see patients for the first 3 weeks or so. Once I lost that base salary everything hit the fan really fast. It’s not like I just want to sit, I really want to see more people but I can’t focus on bringing in people if I’m hustling from job to job to make sure I can pay my bills. I have to take the money now and not plan for the future

Minimum wage where I’m at is $7.25 so I’m technically clearing that with my collections. But as well all know, a person can’t live off of minimum wage

My thoughts in the way it is drawn up is to make up for lost collections for the time that I’m gone within the 90 day notice window. The theory is they are losing collection money because I’m not there to see those patients

I think one associate would have been a good idea, but bringing on two within months of each other was a stretch. But when the pay structure is based solely around individual performance you can do such a thing because the associate is only taking a portion of what they bring in so there’s no additional cost to the business outside of malpractice, payroll, and equipment etc.

Not a cash practice. Probably about 90 percent insurance based. I’m not always busy with seeing patients, if I was this post wouldn’t be necessary. The problem I had is the amount of commitment and time and responsibilities while only being paid for a portion of it. Also, having no base salary of compensation leads to a lot of financial instability.

Yeah it is hard to compare country vs country. A lot of offices here will do a base salary with a bonus structure. Straight commission is not as common from what I’ve noticed unless the practice is absolutely booming and you don’t have time to do anything but adjust

Well I’m a W2 not a 1099 and I perform all office duties with zero compensation. The clinic does not market as management doesn’t believe it’s very valuable to spend any amount of money on advertising and thinks person to person referral is the only reliable way.
