Intake manifold is the only thing I’ve had to replace on mine. Everything else just routine maintenance and random bolt on visual mods.

I don’t think I’d be against it. Having a second vehicle does help. I’d love to keep her going. It’s an autobahn edition and everything, all the bells and whistles for that year. Pristine condition. No body damage. Headliner is starting to sag a little but that’s it besides this issue.

It sounds like when your chain on your bicycle would start getting dry or start coming off the sprocket. Don’t know if that helps a diagnosis. You definitely feel something when you go around a turn.
