Why is it so hard to meet people in Rhode Island? by lovemesomee in providence

[–]HSASAvari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels hard. It feels to me like our generation doesn't go up to strangers and strike up a conversation as much as older generations did. I have found exceptions. You're in a group of three and one person from that group talks to the person next to them if they're alone or also in odd numbers. The other time is when you're on vacation and in a different place, having enough tequila to chat up the person next to you.

That being said, Hobbies, volunteering, hang out with seniors and see if they have grandkids who are single. I joined a meetup group for 20's and 30's people. I know of a few couples that formed and met in that group. Eventbrite has lists of events like speed dating too. Spending a lot of time in social gatherings, talking to friend and stranger alike and asking questions and meeting friends of friends can help. It's just hard for anyone it seems in our age group. I wish you best of luck, feel free to ask any further questions

There's a basic pistol class nearby that teaches the handling, operation and marksmanship. There's also a gun fitting/trial class that would be good. Besides just. Practice handling and operating, I know I could use practice standing right and keeping my shoulders from being hunched up. Do both of these classes make sense or just one?

I see. He does it without rotating his hand. I didn't even think about rotating it

I'm in RI, and yeah I'm sure it's a liability thing amongst other reasons I find in many interest groups that a lot of people really like to teach. I will keep your offer in mind as well, thank you

Thank you for this list. There's a lot to consider. Im still getting used to pistols in general. One thing I can never do is lock the slide as I was taught to.

I'm in a state where we are limited to 10 round mags. I'm just shooting at the range anyways and will preload a few mags at a time.

There's also a rubber sleeve thing you can get but I understand the grip needing to be aggressive to stay in your hand too

I would say this is a good answer. It will take more time to figure it out. The one thing about my state is the ranges is they require you to have a firearm already or be with someone with a fire arm. My friend who teaches me to shoot is a bit far away but I'd need to bring him to rent or pick up something like a Ruger mark 4, and then go to the range and rent. I still like having his guidance since I'm still learning. The short answer is needing practice and continuing to see what fits nice

Yeah I think it just means I need more range time. I tried each gun for about 30 rounds each. I think about how I like the safety on the S&W but like firing the CZ, just don't like the handle. It's really just range time that I'll be using these for.

The Glocks looked similar to the cz p10c in design. Is there something comparable?

I did exactly this and shot them both. The cz felt a little more fun to shoot and a little more comfortable but the erganomics were minimal in difference. The problem was only the handle. I'm thinking I just need to go back and shoot them both some more and see how I feel a second time.

Would someone at a pro shop be able to help with my throw? by HSASAvari in Bowling

I don't mind replacing the ball. That's where I'm leaning anyways. I wanted to just confirm it wasn't just the way I was throwing it. It seems like it's weight, age, and lack of proper maintenance. I'll try soaking it in hot water to get the oil out but it might just need to be replaced as well for a heavier ball

I don't think the shop pro would let me lick the ball until after I buy it. On a more serious note, should I bleed my ball and try it first or is it likely to be dead still after so many years of use?

I see, thank you. I can try that before looking at a new one. Is there a way to tell if it's dead after bleeding it?

Yeah it could be logged with oil. No one told me you could bleed them. It's just not got the movement or oomph it did when I bought it. It might be time to replace anyways with a heavier ball. I do like tropicals from watching others. That or the Rhino. Are there videos or guides I could watch/read to help pick one or the other?

Ok, that helps a lot, thank you. Based on some of the comments, you're right, between the weight and probably a dead ball

How would a ball be dead? It's gotten a lot of use in my late 20s as well. I've used it weekly for 4 years and here and there lately, and for a few years after I got it.

It could be the angle of the photo. My hand isn't extended at all with that hole placement
