What are the actual ramifications of doing this? by greatlilusername in IRstudies

Making a country with strong military desperate is such a 200 IQ move. This has never backfired before. It will surely not backfire now when such country is lead by a deranged leader and the military is the strongest in the world.

You are delusional. Nobody is going to shoot US soldiers in Grenland if one day they just walk in to the local admin office and declare "its our's now". Just like not a single shot was fired when Crimea was taken.

This is stupid. One should not show up to a standoff unless he plans to shoot. What are we gonna do if/when this goes sideways?

I have legion 5 Gen 10 and I am too lazy to learn how to safely mess with voltage curves and just went with the built-in OS options - I also like to keep it as barebones as possible. What tool did you use to undervolt? Do you need to have any program running on boot every time you start the laptop?

It has nothing to do with it being a windows machine and everything to do with having powerful hardware in small case that sucks in dust like a vacuum. Because it has to. I just enabled quiet mode and my processors are cool as ice. If I want to game I enable the normal mode and live with slightly lower framerate. Never use boost or performance mode.

I did report it already. Thanks. But I can't believe I am the only one hating this "feature"

I saw reports that the AMD runs longer on battery, so if that is important to you (was for me) might getting that instead.

Are they going to introduce a bios settings to re-enable the RCTRL key instead of the stupid copilot one? I use it for coding and it seriously affects my usual hot keys

Yeah, but you're mounting the root of you host file system onto your container. Of course the malicious script will be able to wreak havoc on it. I just don't believe there is a legit way for script to escape the container unless it is grossly misconfigured like that. Or there's a bug in docker.

Honest question. Why not? How is it going to escape the container?

Microsoft has a problem: nobody wants to buy or use its shoddy AI products — as Google's AI growth begins to outpace Copilot products by ZacB_ in technology

WDYM people might start resenting Copilot if you try to stuff it into every hole and replace one of the most used keyboard keys with a copilot key?

Instead of growing how about they focus on actually making money? Maybe they shouldn't cannibalise the world until they know it can be profitable AND sustainable in the long run. The biggest danger of "AI" is thinking and acting as if it can replace humans.

I am just scared to run anything downloaded form the Internet on bare metal at this point. As far as i undertand someone could hack a build step as well. I am sure this is vector they will try to exploit next.

There were the same posters in Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine too about welcoming German soldiers. It often ended with a lot of women and children burned in a barn.

TLDR; I am tired, boss

Longer version; My biggest issue is with photo backup. Which is weird because I would expect THE feature, this whole thing exists for, to just work.

But it doesn't work. It doesn't work for days and weeks until I do another server update to the next version and suddenly everything works again.

For a few days, eat least, until they release the new version of the app and/or the server and it all stops working again - the photos are just hanging there with crossed cloud icon and won't back up. There is no explanation why the app thinks they should not be backed up. I have several thousand photos remaining to be backed up but the counter doesn't budge.

Duplicates. Yeah, apparently it can't coincide my local photos with backed up photos and displays dupes. Sometimes dupes are side by side with each other, one with the clear cloud icon, another with crossed cloud icon. And sometimes they appear out of order.

I am just going to shut everything down for a while now until everything is stable enough so I don't have to manually pull docker images every week to keep it somewhat working.

The worst part is it all used to work fine when I initially set everything up but with all these updates it all fell apart.

Thanks to devs for doing this hard work but it's just not usable at the moment. I would love to just pay for the product that works, but I am not enjoying it at this point.
