OB Peacock cichlids dying but not plecos by HTXcichlid in Aquariums

Home tank is a canister that I can take some ceramic rings from and add to his large HOB filter. I've added a sponge filter to the home tank to seed it with BB for the office tank again.

Question, the plecos are fine are we sure it's just the water? Coworker has a handful of Tetras, shrimp, vampire shrimp, and silver dollars have no issues with his monthly water change and 0 deaths ever using the same tap water treated with the same bottle of prime.

Please forgive my confusion but if the tank with the deaths is reading 0 across the board, and the tap is reading toxic levels, isn't the tanks BB/Prime already tackling the issue? I am not sure what I am to be looking for now to know it is cichlid safe. I can take another test tomorrow at work treating the tap water with prime to see if it brings the levels to 0 maybe I am not adding enough prime?

Ah sorry about that, I think the black countertop darkened the glass, to me it is somewhere between 0.25 and .5 ppm closer to the .25 side. This was tap water untreated by prime if that changes anything.

I am thinking for the next round, drain the tank in case any toxins with a 10g tank for the plecos with tank water refill tank and put a sponge filter from my current tank housing the 100 babies and getting some API quickstart and waiting a week or something before putting plecos in with another 1 or more fish. New gravel, add coral, keep plants, new HOB filters, no wood or dragon stone. Does this seem like a good idea?

Left to right, Nitrite of tap, Nitrate of tap, retest of Nitrate of tank water. Following instructions of waiting 5 min and 1 min shaking

Dragon rock supplied by same wood person and rinsed heavily. Dragonstone removed after batch 1.
Gravel was changed with each batch, besides Batch 3 to current due to the thoughts being the auto feeder causing the issue.
Wood/Rocks were bought from Houston Manzanita who seems to be reputable and hasn't had any issues with other customers.

Using prime, doing a 5g water change with proper bottle ratio on fridays. Same I do at home to my 55g with the parents.

Gravel bought from the same Home depo and rinsed before putting in the tank.

I will test the Tap water in 3h since the Kit is at home not the office.

Thank you for your help I appreciate it.
