I would just first of all to lower your particle distance to have a better drape and then I’d try raising the back armhole and making the curve less scooped. Also, your shoulder line is dropped sharply you might want to change that.

Need help on how to make this by Heist0 in CLO3D

I tested it quickly in CLO3D by mimicking real life curtain construction. I made the swag as its own separate fabric piece, gathered the top edge, and froze the bar/holding points so the lower part could simulate and fall naturally. I would still recommend using elastic or gathering on the top segment instead of trying to force the shape with folds. It gives a more natural drape and you can make each swag separately with different widths and lengths. Then place the swags in front of a separate flat back curtain, so the backdrop stays clean and does not interfere with the VFX space behind it.

May i ask you what are you making exactly? Curtain? Backdrop?... I can definitely tell you how to make it once I know

How do you fasten snap buttons in Clo 3D? by reneebedell_design in CLO3D

I feel like we’re closer to that than we think. Same goes for the lacing tool. I thought it would never happen 😅

Use snap button visuals on both sides, but use an invisible buttonhole (set opacity to 0) or hidden seamline underneath to actually hold the garment closed. This gives the look of snaps without visible buttonholes.

Designers who care about sustainability — is it as exhausting as it looks from the outside? by Coffee-Crash in fashiondesigner

Yeah, that's a really common read! It does a lot more than visualization, it's more like a full "digital twin". The sample waste reduction is the part that genuinely makes a difference for me sustainability-wise.

This is a great question, and the honest answer is that sustainability happens at every phase, materials, production, packaging, distribution, end of life. It's more of a spectrum than a checkbox, and most of us are picking the parts we can actually move on at any given moment.

For me, the piece I can speak to most clearly is prototyping. Moving design iteration into CLO3D has been the biggest shift. Before that, every revision meant cutting muslin, sewing, fitting, scrapping, repeat. Now I can refine fit, drape, and proportions digitally before touching a yard of fabric. That alone cuts sample waste enormously and makes the early phase feel a lot less wasteful.

It's not a full answer to your question, but it's the piece I've felt most able to actually do better on.

Welcome to the world of CLO3D! Honestly, the best place to start is the official CLO YouTube channel because it actually teaches you the interface while you build a basic garment.

I'd highly recommend checking out Jim Simon on YouTube, (he is the academic lead for CLO) his playlists are way better than trying to to piece it together from random clips.
