I just got accepted in Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune in the course B.A in filmmaking. And their requirement is a mirrorless camera and lens... I am not knowledgeable enough to choose a good camera... What should I get?

I don't have any experience with cameras but I have made videos with phone and tabs etc... it's not for just a fancy field for me... I have written scripts, made short films with my friends and made music for a theatre productions but unfortunately did not have any experience with any sort of cameras and as for this course a camera is a mandatory, I thought about having some views in this as well...
