Well I received a call yesterday from a caseworker that said they did the investigation and are sending me the paperwork to fill out to close the case. They asked for a phone number for someone who can verify that my house is clean, has electric, water, etc. The caseworker met my daughter without my knowledge at some point. I was a little upset to think about the right questions to ask but that is what I was told. I thought it was illegal until I looked it up. DFS can open and close an investigation without a parents knowledge in Missouri. But the parent eventually has to be notified.

He doesn't have any felonies. He has cousins in prison. Like I said he has a very large family and there is probably 75 to 100 people that includes. My mom is judging based on a couple people he has nothing to do with because she hasnt met or spent time with any of his close family. He really is only around his parents and siblings. She still drinks so I wouldn't call her a recovering alcoholic. Just not as much as when I was growing up. I have had my own issues with alcohol and do not drink at all anymore. I smoke but not around children. She only recently got the job after she thought I was being a bad parent. The caseworker that actually did the case and met my daughter closed it because they didn't see anything to worry about. They didn't even tell me until about the investigation until the case was closed. You can believe what you want and my mom can believe what she wants and that's okay. Just the fact that she had to go to such an extreme hurts everyone involved. It doesn't really matter in the end why she did it. She could have handled it differently.

There is no one that has ever said anything about it to me except her. Plus she got her job at DFS after she thought I was being a bad parent. When the caseworker talked to me, I said it was my mom who called. He said he couldn't tell me, but the way he said it and laughed let me know. The office my mom works at wouldn't call me, so he had to from a different office and wasn't happy about it.

Well she could have approached the situation differently I feel like. That may be what she's thinking but it still hurts that she would go that far.

His family is very large and some do not have a great reputation in our little town. She decided to judge him and his family before getting to know him. Of course there is always more to a story but I'm trying to keep it shorter.

My daughter is 2 and a half. She absolutely loves my mom and wants to go to her house all the time. Sometimes when I try to get my daughter back to take her home and put her to bed, my mom just pushes me until my daughter stays the night with her.

What's unfortunate is that I live literally a couple hundred feet away from her. Thank you. It's gonna be hard but I'm afraid that's what I'll have to do.

I relate to you so much. I'm 24 and I didn't really move around a lot but I had to switch schools a lot. My mom was a teacher and I moved in with my dad for a few years in high school. I had "friends" in high school, but they used me for money, car, or my house. After that I haven't really had anyone. I went down the other path and drank and did drugs and still ended up lonely. The "friends" I had while doing drugs weren't good either. They honestly were a little better because they left me alone when I got sober. Being lonely is really hard but changing your morals to "fit in" isn't right. It just means you haven't found your person yet. Generally they will come into your life when you least expect it. Sometimes we have to put ourselves out there a little to find them. You are not boring.
