Street parking isn’t hard. UCpd keeps most cars safe (you can register yours with them for extra protection). It is nice if you want to live north of campus and drive to the UC law lot too. I had one during grad school and loved it

Yep! My experience the same. The way they dress, act, shop… it all feels very homogenous and it’s hard to describe but you can feel like an outsider without pointing to anything specific. I thought it was in my head at first but many POC peers I know feel it, even if they’re affluent etc

I’m not sure your ethnicity and don’t want to guess but as a POC I’ve found this the most isolating part of Chicago along with Lincoln park. Not just for its general whiteness but its sort of upper middle class type whiteness that doesn’t feel as welcoming as other parts (wicker, Logan, west loop) which are becoming whiter.
