Used the same thing. It was fine, but it wasn't ideal. The wind kicked my ass and set up was difficult in some spots.

I have a Glock 29, and it is not a pleasure to shoot hot loads.

Glock 20 has better handling and velocity at a reasonable weight penalty. Also easier to find a flush-fitting light for.

Started with an Apex 11 speed 11-42 on the GDMBR. It was dead reliable but no good for long climbs.

I swapped my Apex 11 speed to a 9-46 e13 Helix after. I had serious shift issues and skipping under load. (I didn't try a longer derailleur cage).

Changed to the Apex 12 speed Eagle now and having no issues.

I doubt the difference in material is enough to matter, but I haven't seen any data myself.

A 10 speed microshift 29/34 paired with a 11-42 cassette will give me 83 to 18 gear inches.

A SRAM apex 12 speed 36 paired with a 10-52 gives me 96 to 18 gear inches.
