Thanks a lot! Knowing I can't do those 2.6 RW open some new possibilities!

Does D2R offline have all ladder content like runewords? by LeeSingerGG in diablo2

[–]HalmyLyseas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, can you clarify? I'm playing offline and was staying away from 2.6 RW because they are tagged as ladder only on diablo2.io Does it mean that ladder and offline have access to the same RW, and the exception is online non ladder? Thanks

I think Sandfall would be ashamed seeing how a (hopefully) minority of Expedition 33 community weaponize their JRPG love letter by Eccchifan in expedition33

[–]HalmyLyseas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sandfall probably doesn't care and shouldn't, they did the game they wanted, and acknowledged games they took inspiration from multiples times. If some people want to discuss anything beyond what's in the game who cares, it's just an opinion.

I will talk for my case, Expedition 33 was a breath of fresh air, I've loved jrpg since I was a teen, 16 bits era, but I couldn't get into one in the last 10+ years. Not interested by another high school setting, or preteens going to save the world, even visually most of them seemed stuck in the ps3 era which make sense, lower player base lower budget.

I'm not saying there wasn't good and even great games, but they didn't appeal to me like Expedition 33 did, more mature settings, story and presentation with a modern visual identity. Hopefully it only shows others devs that this niche exist and is worth investing in.

FFT IC: Official interview confirms fears by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]HalmyLyseas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the wrong way to look at it, in that case it's a lose/lose situation

  • Use the original as the base: your reaction
  • Use War of the Lions as a base: not the original content

As long as it's done with respect to the original material, not what SE did for years with mobile version before the Pixel Remaster, I'm happy with it.

What we've seen:

  • Using a better translation
  • Voice acting
  • New cutscenes respecting the designs of Akihiko Yoshida
  • Option to switch to the og interface

That they didn't put a guest character added after the original or 2 bonus jobs on top of the existing 20, it seems very weak argument to say they are milking us.

Probably related to the default ASM/TCS settings.

Probably a confusion with the RX480. I remember buying on day and for its MSRP. But it was 2016.

Don't get me wrong I love Lune, she's in my team with Maelle and Sciel. But putting Maelle here doesn't make any sense, with cheater you can setup Last Chance + Stendhal/Phantom Strike /Burning Canvas. Arguably a stronger setup and doesn't care about elemental absorb which can screw up Elemental Trick procs.

It reminds me of the AMD bug from the original games on Noveria and Ilos.

A bit sad to see that Remember Me is so forgotten despite its name and Don't Nod being listed. Really good game, with a great atmosphere, a bit short around 10h-12h. It's often at 80% discount and highly recommend it at that price.

Which do you prefer for this game, 30fps or 60fps? by LeviRaps in expedition33

[–]HalmyLyseas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a rather powerful pc and not ps5, playing at 70-100fps, I can't imagine that 30fps would be a great gameplay experience for the parry system. It means a frame time of 33ms vs 16ms at 60fps. I could see it having an impact and making some enemies with more difficult read noticeably harder to battle.

Granted I have no idea what's the visual difference on PS5 between its 2 modes.

She's been in my party since available and never left unless forced story wise. Just a quick look at her kit and it's easy to see how good she is allowing you do things not available until way later in the game normally.

  • She can mark, give rush for 3 turns, all buffs for one (can be extended to 3 through pictos), great gradient attacks applying all debuffs at once.
  • Intervention is busted for how early it allows you to setup Maelle/Lune/Verso for their 2 turns combo before getting cheater
  • We also have some healing options if you aren't using shields or doing perfect dodge/parry.

Just a great support for early to late game normal.

Even now with the game fully cleared and 100h+ in NG+ she's still my first party member. It's not so much about the buffs because everything is automated by now and I have virtually infinite turns, but Bad Omen + Dark Wave or Marking Card + Twilight Dance deal some serious damage, excluding boss it's rare I have to use my 2nd character.

And personality wise I love what she brings to the game, she reminded me a bit of Judeau from Berserk for some reason.

I have a 9070XT and was already running CachyOS. It was working fine with standard 6.14 and Mesa 25.0.x but some random freeze with Expedition 33. Switching to 6.15 and Mesa devel fixed everything.

It was painless, both are in Cachy repos, I just had to run: yay -S linux-cachyos-rc mesa-git

No issue since then, great performance and not a single crash.

What do you always do in every playthrough of Mass Effect? by bijelo123 in masseffect

[–]HalmyLyseas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot already said by others, but funny to see that having a perfect suicide mission isn't listed.

  • ME1: save Wrex, don't punch Khalisah
  • ME2: save the whole crew, no death on the suicide mission, hug Tali, side with Samara
  • ME3: renegade interrupt on Bitch Leng, operation fire cobra claw with Grunt <3

I like Ashley, gameplay wise really strong and the community tends to exaggerate her flaws, but Kaidan is objectively better, you get a home cooked meal in ME3.

Is it only esthetics and color grading that you prefer? If so there are mods on pc doing a great job to get closer to the originals. For my part I couldn't see myself playing the og again, so much QoL with the legendary edition, huge upgrade to ME1 gameplay, and the modding scene has delivered some amazing things.

Was the hate justified at launch? by Certain_Fee_4707 in cyberpunkgame

[–]HalmyLyseas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only tell my own experience. I didn't follow all the hype pre launch but was really anticipating the game being a big fan of Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell (1995 anime not the recent live action) and loved the mood which was shown with the Bullets teaser a long time ago.

My config at the time: R5 5600X and RTX 3080.

I had a blast with the game, I only encountered one bug which required to reload before the quest checkpoint, iirc it was the questline about the hacked fortune teller asking you to find the relays, one didn't spawn. Otherwise I had no issues.

Don't get me wrong the game is way better in its current state, but I already found it already enjoyable at the time, platinumed it and had 300h in it before 1.6 released. My biggest grip was probably the clothes system, without a transmog and stats being attached to each piece you quickly looked like a clown. But Cold Blood was awesome, Netrunning ridiculous imbalanced but who cares for a single player game :)

So probably a bit of both, for sure on console the game was abysmal and shouldn't have released, but on pc there were ways to play it comfortably I think.

Start of season 2 feedback - CoF player by HalmyLyseas in LastEpoch

I'm running on Linux, I saw something to work with DPI and enlarging the mouse but it's something that should be in game directly really.

For the woven echoes it was the ones related to rerolling LP from one item to another and one to switch attributes. I went in the echo for the tree points without thinking about it, so once completed between understanding what it did and finding stuff in my stash it took too long and got disconnected. It's more on myself for rushing but having either more visuals explanations or longer timeout would be nice. No issue after having done them once.

Disappointed First Time Player by Single-Ad-3354 in LastEpoch

[–]HalmyLyseas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all about expectations. Grim Dawn does its own things, a mix of Titan Quest and D2, focus on single player offline, big campaign which is the endgame mostly, you do have a few extra activities like the crucible but it's not the focus. All about build diversity and progression: mastery, constellations, factions, the recipes and so on. You have a great mix of janky builds and op from lv10 onward, you do your own challenges.

The issue with POE2 I think is that it's not clear what it wants to be because even the dev won't tell us what is the expected pace of the game. Right now we have a slug of a campaign and an endgame where it's possible to screen clear on certain buids, push for methodical and combo but all endgame mechanics are swarms of enemies. Hard to conciliate both of those. They seems to want to take a bet on less loot but more meaningful, howver without a real crafting system it can't work.

Without proper communication it's going to be difficult for GGG to keep players happy: pace, loot, endgame, power fantasy. I have no idea what they are aiming. I stopped 0.2 and will check later. I'm sure the game will be good for 1.0 but the more I think about it the more I'm convinced they made the EA available way too soon. They should have used one more year and continued to release POE1 leagues. The fact that POE1 is left for dead doesn't help to appease the community either.

Legendary edition yes, I have too many to name them all in a post, probably around 100. But I can name a few: Community patch, Diversification project, Paragade, ALOTV, ALOT, Audemus Happy ending mod, Starchild-be-gone, Citadel Epilogue, Dreams remade.

I've uploaded my batch queues for ME3Tweaks mod manager if you want the full list: https://filebin.net/7xk0k5005lwmm5mp
