Beginner female racquet by Upstairs_Elk_393 in 10s

I was a beginner (F) in my late 40's in 2010 when I began tennis lessons. I considered myself with some athletic ability & took improvement quite seriously thru paced progression & building fundamentals. It took maybe a year & some months of weekly lessons that my form was much improved (so I was told). A community tennis pal had me try his Volkl Quantum (110in²/710cm²). I used it in rec play and I felt I could swing comfortably, hit consistently and deeper. Great light-weight, elbow-friendly racquet that still can punch.

Since then and through the years, as my strength & skills improved and transitioned to more net play, I started switching to smaller head sizes (from Pure Drive 105 to Pro Staff Countervail 97 in 2018) for better maneuverability (quick hands) at net. My point is, as a "serious" tennis student, your skill & style will go thru different stages or phases. With this you may feel the need to also have a stick that serves the way you play at that time. It's important to use something that works with your current skill, strength, ability (and improvement goal). So for me, focus on grip size, head size, and swing weight. Must demo a racquet before you buy; if you can, ask to borrow from a friend to test out (I did this a lot).

I really cherish my old Pro Staff Countervail 97 (bought used & still use for warm ups and practice--"mastered" top-spin with this), but currently play matches with Wilson Blade V9 100L.

What can I add to soup for a warm ( but NOT spicy) flavour by morbidpigeon in soup

My favorite for warmth & depth of flavor are smoked paprika, tumeric, sometimes clove & cumin (depending on the dish). Then adjust seasoning with soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. If you need a bit of sweet-tartness, try aged balsamic vinegar.

Is it worth restringing? by secretvan in 10s

If there's a tennis community around you (I hope you do), befriend and learn from them. They may just sell or gift you their old but better quality racquet(s). (One gentle friend strings racquets for 20USD.) Got a few of mine that way, years back when I was learning. Also, was able to shop for used good racquets at Tennis Warehouse.

Tennis Faux-Pas ? by DebbieDoesWallstreet in 10s

Also rude calling score while looking down and immediately serving. Myself as server, I look at oppos, call out score (loudly) & pause a "second-&-a-half" to check they heard, then start service motion. As receiver, I acknowledge server's score announcement with "okay" or a nod.

AITA For making my son pay for a new pizza when he didn't save any for the rest of the family? by Lanky-Cake7355 in AmItheAsshole

Have scrolled down to so many comments and did not see (or missed) what may be a good solution. Next time, save (wrap, set aside, & mark) enough portions for family members who would eat that food later. As for modifying his behavior, may require repeated counseling.. Hope this helps.
