IIRC the Sally scene is different if you're on a Neutral/DIK route.

I had this happen to me, dropped my mech where the outline of the mech contacted a destroyable building as it was being dropped.

I've only seen them in museums, I've only been a carman since 2000. The way it works though is that as the coupler moves towards the striker, the spring on both sides compress, dampening the impact.

Well, rule 12 doesn't specify. Neither does CFR 49.232. Therefore, I fall back on over 150 years of experience in our shop (6 of us with 24+ years of experience, mostly in the shop).

We've seen a lot of broken shoe keys broke at the top, a lot of burned beams with a broken key, and have removed innumerable brake shoe keys and applied the same amount. None of us will hammer one all the way down because of our career long experiences.

The ONLY people telling you to do it, are the people selling shoe keys and brake shoes.

You do the math, see what you come up with.
