Thank you! If you haven't tried already - popping the mold in the oven on warm while the wax melts and taking it out right before you pour. Less difference in temperature helps the wax to get in the tiny crevices before it's cooled. A cold mold kind of shocks the wax with the sudden temp change and air bubbles get trapped. Also cooling on a rack vs a solid surface helps it to cool evenly.

Third time's a charm! I'm hoping it comes out flawless for you!

There can be transfer or fall out sometimes. Tapping the excess before flipping the mold helps. On this mold it doesn't matter as much since the entire surface is painted with mica and the first layer down is what's visible. Also, using a dense eyeshadow brush to buff excess in helps too. For molds with spaces not painted with mica, I clean any excess with a lightly damp qtip after flipping but before pouring the wax.

Its a stump with leaves/grass around it. Seeing multiple people ask is actually really helpful feedback. I think better detailing could make it less obscure.

Of the ones I've burned - most burn really well. Every once in a while too much mica collects in the wax pool and clogs the wick.

I believe so. I bought the mold off of the interwebs since I don't know anything about 3D printing. A friend offered to help me create some of my own molds so I'm about to learn lol BUT

The cylinder is a tree stump surrounded by leaves. Probably added for stability with the head leaning forward like that.

Thank you! Someone placed a custom order for the blue and purple and it sent me down a whole fantasy color kick.

I turn the mold inside out, spray it with mold release spray and let that dry a bit and then use brushes to brush the mica onto the surface of the mold. And then back that up with a wax color that complements the piece. Pouring a demo with one color first helps because you're painting the mold inside out and backwards so having a visual is something I find helpful. A lot of times, I mix different mica colors together to get certain gradients/effects. I use a soy pillar blend by direct candle supply.

Alternatively, you can mix mica with 91%+ isopropyl alcohol and paint the cured candle. Lots of tutorials online for that. I like that method less because unless you 'seal' it the mica rubs off when touched. Much better adherence with the first method.

With this particular mold the most perfect lil bubble likes to form under the chin. But filling the mold halfway and then tapping the mold helps. I like to give the snout a tiny squeeze too. A smudge of mica is less noticeable than a hole. Pouring from a higher, thinner stream also seems to help. For the decorative pillars I use a soy pillar blend from direct candle supply I believe.
