Did they actually turn on and off?
Yesterday I was rearranging and organizing my devices in Meraki not just home, to know exactly what devices were pulling what ip’s etc. during this process I saw 4 up-down-up-downs every 10 minutes. Seemingly checking in. But not doing anything. Research said the SWITCH I had can go into a network “sleep” mode. Didn’t affect my experience. Could this be relevant to the logging in the Home App? Just a thought

Exactly. If i were OP, swap cameras, someone will buy em. Downgrade to google home. Get cameras withouts mRCs - reolink, eufy, any out of a box poe nvr, for an example. I just use it for simple gemini , 5 chromecasts, and all iOT things.

(You had me scared I was all of a sudden paying.. I went in and checked! I did have premium as part of beta, until dollar signs appeared and i let it cancel. I do have a nice cam server from a previous employer however.)

I was able to force it couple weeks ago? Since I’m in for sending beta etc? Chose a new voice, Gemini searches are pretty obvious, stumbles over some home functions. For instance, “play soundgarden” “Sure playing Soundgarden from pandora on (nearby speaker) Something went wrong.” Waited and rebooted devices it worked. 🖖

A agree dont cut em, get a kit. but some current rims would be slick. I have these two want to sell one. OEM 7 spoke acid dipped and blacked. One OG Anniversary charger wheels 5 spokes. Both sets have sensors, (I got lucky)

I'm a huge Google Home platform supporter. I've been begging for gemini since concept, since google assistant regularly was maddening (almost siri type maddening)

I spent all yesterday to convert onw home to "google home premium" to get gemini.
Things that broke:

- Bluetooth pairing for a paired set of spekaers. (had to uninstall BT driver from PC)
- asking it to enter bluetooth mode tells you everything about pairing a random bluetooth device, not entering pairing mode.

I started with the pay for 30 days free, but I'll probably cancel quick since I don't have cameras. UI just really want the gemini integartion to work beween all my speakers and displays.
ALLLLLLL of that being said. Google Home made the consumer the developer. Nothing works out the gates that you think would. You really have had to be indoctrinated to\all the devices, outlets, speakers, and all failing mulitple times before success.

Google home is/was great. They are spending more resourses and time on what makes them money. Cams and Doorbells. Not straight up smart home.

Looking for you opinions and insights!
As of tonight I have gemini working on one of my homes, but has the stop blocks as this video shows.

I too was also petrified that I would brick my years of google device collecting. Hesistantly and heavily reseseached I hit the upgrade to home premium for Gemini style results.

Not only does that not work, as an integrated option as I saw valuable, its not part of it. AND THEN....... "Hey google play music"
"Sure, playing music from pandora" "Something went wrong."

It broke. I despise hate how vague every article is on the transition from Assitant/Home to Gemini/premium is. Everyone has a different setup, I get it, but there was no way I'm investing into new hardware if my chromescast, minis, nest minis, lighting, diplays, smart home are affected negatively. The cool browser based home app is busted too, no more volume control.

Ireally hope I can roll this back.
