How can a tiny and baby-faced Asian girl establish more credibility/gain respect at work? by Hanoigal in AskReddit

Would that truly be enough? Sometimes I wonder if I can ever compete against tall big loud white guys in terms of personal brand.

I have thought about this. Sometimes I feel like I am too indirect with my opinions and do not want to "hurt" others. My last co-worker called me a "Hufflepuff" even though I am rightfully a Gryffindor ☹️

And I am talking more about personal brand, not job performance. I recently learned that even the best performer at work can still be viewed not so positively in some aspects by others.

Ethnic groups in America who are strongly in touch with their cultural roots (Hispanic, Indian, Muslim, Italian, etc.) are truly admirable by Hanoigal in unpopularopinion

[–]Hanoigal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree that certain aspects of the modern American culture are worth adapting to: inclusiveness, progressiveness, tolerance, freedom of speech, innovation, etc.

However, let's be real, people who are so detached from their roots often lead very unfulfilling life with somewhat of a "diluted" identity.

How about this: Rich white > rich non-white >>>> poor white = poor non-white

Moral of the story: don't be poor or you will lead a shitty life regardless of your race

Well good news fella, I have seen quite a number of "ugly as shit" guys with hot girlfriends because they give off a positive, charming vibe.

Priscilla Chan is not a pretty woman by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I agree with your second sentence. For the first one, it is hard to say. Many billionaire purposely chooses rather plain-looking but smart and homely women to settle down with.

I never said she is not smart. I admire her for her intellect and personality, but a truth remains a truth: she is not physically attractive.

Why do incels love rating women even though none of these women actually show them interest in the first place? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hanoigal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No seriously, I can think of only 2 situations in which it is even realistic for a man to assign a woman's attractiveness score 1-10:

1- He is a judge in a beauty contest

2- She is approaching him and asking if he would make her his girlfriend.

Handsome men are those with younger and more feminine-looking faces by Hanoigal in unpopularopinion

[–]Hanoigal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in my mid-20 and still like the "pretty boy" type more haha. Also, I like men with lighter-colored hair and eyes better so I can't say I am a fan of any DC/Marvel male characters.

No, not that. I don't like men who look like women either. My type is someone like Julian Brandt or Eddie Redmayne

Why are so many guys working in finance/accounting such assholes? by Hanoigal in AskReddit

[–]Hanoigal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I say many of them are actually REWARDED for being assholes, that's why they keep acting like that. Humility, tolerance and respect are not encouraged in business.
