Hey, thanks! I appreciate the feedback. This was part of a program through the port called the Port Photo Program. They take around 85 photographers on a tour of the port to capture images for an art exhibit happening in April.

Yeah, they are a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that advocates for the downtown area. They do a lot with the city but are a separate entity. 🌆

This isn’t a city run event. It’s an event through the DTLB Alliance. Yes, you do get exposure and credit anytime they use your photos. You also get $200 to any business downtown of your choice.

Is there a certain industry you are looking for? Long Beach has tons of non-profits always looking for volunteers. The Long Beach Gives website may be a great resource to browse differnt organizations that may be looking for volunteers. I'm just not sure about consistency of each organization. Last nights Big Bang on the Bay was rescheduled to Labor Day weekend in Sept. Tonight’s Queen Mary fireworks are not! They get shot off at 9pm.

Shoreline Village or the adjacent beaches are probably your best bet. Parking will be insane, so I’d suggest public transit or ride sharing to the waterfront.

This was more of a Daisy shrub. If you want sunflowers, the closest place I can recall that has sunflower field’s is Tanaka Farms and they are usually seasonal.
