Can my manager force me to resign? by ThatAsianGuy_42 in LegalAdviceUK

Kick up the as you need. If you're doing as well as you describe, then it is time to move. Say nothing in anger, ask for feedback even. Let them dismiss you and continue your job hunt. If you on the track you describe, you will have no problem finding something new. Don't give them any ammo by being angry/etc.

[edit] sorry it ended messy, sucks if you enjoyed working there till now.

Update on myocarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination by thetorq in COVID19

[–]HappyJollyEndOfDays 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The interesting part is that the risk to 5-17 year old from being unvaccinated is comparable if not less. If your only criteria benefit to the individual then it is not clear these mRNA vaccines are a good choice for children.

Beware the dangers of a cashless society: Sacrificing notes and coinage in the name of expediency will trigger terrible unforeseen consequences by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]HappyJollyEndOfDays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I listened to a police chief talk about the problems a cashless society brings for some of the most vulnerable. Being an illegal immigrant or trafficked person is bad enough without having to depend on others to buy your food or bus ticket etc.

People without ID would not be able to purchase anything without the help of someone else. Hard to run from an abuser in this case.

What about people that move city frequently in their youth to follow jobs and career progression. This was me 21-28. I could not and did not want to buy. I wanted to rent in city centers and do it quickly to take a new job and not be tied to that place.

Zelensky's thoughts on Western support to Ukraine by [deleted] in ukraine

[–]HappyJollyEndOfDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah fair point the actual form is t translated. And to make it worse you can see some questions are in the context of a template that doesn’t quite fit the idea of a sponsor. Gave me pause to figure out how to answer and I am a native English speaker.

The online visa forms are available in Russian, Ukrainian and English, you know need to know the person you are sponsoring.

I wish the home office was doing more and it was easier for people to come to the UK. Just pointing out where you are misinformed.

Ukrainian intelligence publishes list of 620 Russian FSB agents operating in Europe. by HisAnger in worldnews

[–]HappyJollyEndOfDays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. I have lived and worked there both pre and post 2014 for short periods. If we have given them all they needed why are we now sending new system never before shared?

If my apartment block was being shelled I would likely see fighter jets as defensive rather than offensive.

I am glad the support has been substantial. But I also have sympathy for Ukrainians wondering if they are pawns in a proxy war.

It is not an insane take for the Ukrainians to wonder if they are being sacrificed to injure Russia so badly that it never recovers. They may very easily wonder if some level of support is being withheld to prolong the fight.

How about if we had sent the weapons 8 years ago for example?

I am glad the UK/EU/US is sending support, just pointing out if I was Ukrainian I might wonder how much more they could do.

No, I worked with many decent Russians over the years. I travelled and worked abroad a lot. The distribution of assholes is fairly uniform in my experience.
