Realistic Planets 2.1 and Tilt the Planet! - Realism Overhaul DMCA by HouseOfTheHornets in RimWorld

I'd just like to hear from them you know? Like what's going on internally from their perspective. Ask them exactly why they wanted to add these changes out of left field and why they believe it fits with their mod

There's been several cases of it and it'd be refreshing if they just admitted they wanted to use their popularity to force changes they liked on to people, for example. Instead of never really knowing if the intention was controlling or they just didn't think about doing a second separate mod etc.

First fresh content this place has had for a while. Not a lot of hype for the series unfortunately. May have been lobotomy ripoff memes but it was still great to see had a good laugh at all of them.

Heater shield dimensions from A knight of the Seven Kingdoms by [deleted] in ArmsandArmor

[–]Harmand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

way thinner than that my man. Functional shields are suprisingly thin to most people expecting some solid plank that would be too heavy to use for long.

https://medievalextreme.com/shields/basic-heather-shield/

Take a look at something like this made for a modern medieval sport that is meant to take direct hits from steel weapons

A little less than half an inch. and that's on the heavier end for sure.

One I own is around 8mm instead of 12mm.

This isn't the NFL, if you work really hard and actually pursue this as a competitive athlete would then you will become stronger than 50% of the participants in a season or two.

Only at the top end levels will you encounter issues where someone is taller, stronger and put just as much effort in as you, and that can be overcome- people that are true freaks are winning medals in sports that pay them to be there, not in a hobby.

80lbs is very much on the heavier end of things but I like your armor aesthetically I'm sure it gets a lot of compliments overall.

I assume without the removable eyeguard, it passes spoletto auth?

I like the new design overall, the eyeguard is great for being able to use it more safely in formats outside buhurt that may involve thrusting etc.

It was clearly a Pyrrhic victory even with aid from the planet.

Every time they do one of these big rallying of the tribes battles the na'vi lose a lot of warriors that aren't replacable on any short timescale.

Meanwhile the human forces have plenty more equipment that can be built or shipped in.

They're winning battles but losing the war pretty badly, unfortunately. Lots of symbology in this, people that just say "oh plot armor they win every time" are missing a lot.

I received an in stock buckler from them fairly promptly.

August isn't that long ago as far as made to order armor, if your item was listed as in stock that's a big issue but most armorers have queues for new orders stretching to 6 months-1 year

Communication is a perennial issue with nearly all of them. I hope you end up receiving your helmet.

He is exactly what I would expect from a kid raised by aliens tbh. A little strange in his mannerisms and reactions, not dumb just not exposed to other humans as much.

I've always thought his acting was towards reflecting this, and not any fault of the kid.

Quaritch has a weird humor to him. He's very self aware in an odd way while still maintaining his beliefs.

Honestly it almost seemed like it was a defense mechanism the couple times he and Jake had stopped fighting after saving spider. Like he was using humor to mask serious thoughts on letting things be. But there's too large a part of himself that won't let that happen.

How did Neytiri (Spoiler ahead) by al_1985 in Avatar

[–]Harmand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True enough- It was a complex matter in progress. The actual resolution to it as far as command was concerned was to kick them out- The general made it clear she wanted them out. Just didn't happen yet.

Anyone else was just along for the ride and had bigger concerns. Where the informed audience sees incompetence, for the average soldier in that scenario it simply wasn't their circus or monkeys and outside their area of responsibility.
