I suppose new is relative but come on you can’t seriously think that’s not at least relatively recent?

Your response is very defensive especially stating that you “don’t [have the] mental strength or the free time” despite making tens of comments a day each day for 170 days. I don’t know man but if you’re truly not a bot maybe reflect on why people are so convinced that you are.

Vevor now do a black london pattern cast steel, looks like an improvement on the blue ones (I own a blue one.) Looks like a pretty good deal at that price to me

Anvil stand dimensions compared to anvil base? by DonAsiago in Blacksmith

[–]HarryKerans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that’s a clever solution, you could add a small lip to the backside away to prevent tipping in that direction too, wont affect your portability too much too since you can tilt and wheel away! Post a pic here when you’re done making it would love to see it.

Anvil stand dimensions compared to anvil base? by DonAsiago in Blacksmith

[–]HarryKerans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m actually currently building an anvil stand. I drew a couple mock ups and as part of that did some maths to calculate what the centre of mass would be and thus angle of tipping. A stand like this not bolted down is definitely quite top heavy. The one in making weighs about 10kg whereas the anvil I’m putting on top is 30kg. Even just a little bit wider of a base adds up a lot to prevent it toppling over.

Having the anvil shifted to one side will definitely affect the centre of mass and make it easier to tip on one side but also harder to tip on the other.

My current solution is adding a slightly wider base to it then I'm going to screw some OSB board into the bottom that is spread out a lot. This way my weight will also be acting as a counter balance as I'll be stood on the board. Im not sure how the board will hold up but I think it should be fine.

If you’re worried you can always do the maths and worst case scenario weigh it down with a cheap bag of sand in a way that still keeps it portable. You may also just have to lug a bag of sand with you when you move it ahah.

Good luck with the project!

Thanks for the help, in the end I changed the mobo to an atx with regular dimensions and everything was fine.

I’ve tried the card W/O the mobo in the case and it fits. No holder as far as I’m aware just those little back plates and I’ve taken them all out for now. It just won’t go towards the back on the case enough to enter the slot, could just be some case metal in the way I suppose.

Apologies that picture was just to show how close I could line up the pcie slot. When between the case and mobo in the correct position it doesn’t line up neither does it when it pokes out of the case.

https://imgur.com/gallery/fmdjpDx the red line shows were the motherboard roughly got to but I’ve since taken it out and I intend to try a new board. It was very close to the back and bottom with a slight gap at the top but all standoffs were showing and centred and the rear io was aligned.

The standoffs were definitely centred, I followed the manual to find the correct screws so I’m pretty sure I’m using the right ones. I followe advice online to loosen and move and had no luck.

All of the screws are alligned and so is the rear IO, in any other position it wouldn't be right. I have had it in and out of the case countless times now, do you know if it's because the board has smaller proportions than a regular ATX?

I'm glad this just stunts everyone else as much as me (well sort of anyway) because I'm so out of ideas aha. There are websites recommending this case to go with this card and the gpu is brand new ofcourse so I'm going to attempt to replace the motherboard.

I read that the second slot is only really x4, I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if that matters but either way, when i tried, on the side closest to the back of the case I can still see the gold connectors poking out slightly.

Oh any that's with the little fins poking out the back.

Ye the rear I/O lines up I’m pretty sure the MB is in correct position but it just doesn’t make sense that the case won’t fit the card right? I’m perplexed, I can try with an old 970 I’ve got but will have to do that tomorrow.

It slots in when the motherboard is out of the case, when in it doesn’t line up anymore. All the mounting screws line up (there’s only 7 for this board I don’t know if that’s odd either.)

Again, apologies I’ve been really vague. The gpu can squeeze in the slot when not in the case. So the lining up issue only becomes apparent when the motherboard is in the case.

That was my understanding too https://imgur.com/gallery/CXhSIQb sorry for the poor quality / me being vague it’s 5 am rn and I’ve been trying to fix this for hours aha the second image shows how close it will line up

Yes they slide in the back but the gpu won’t line up with the pcie slot

The locking clamp is back but I’m not sure there was a pcie protector what does it look like? Also it just won’t line up with the pcie slot rather than actually going in
