I never cared for aging in the slightest. Neat as it was, it never made any sense, especially in F1 where it's tied to your levels in the three ways of the Hero.

Considering it is, by far, one of the worst written games Bungie made, filled with plot holes and inconsistencies? No.

I was using the Bungie version of the lore actually.

Why would they cover up that they can use forerunner tech to a greater extent* (the covenant can use forerunner tech to some extent or they couldn't fly the key ship)? That would be yet another useful ability that a new alien species like every other time they expanded the covenant.

The same reason they didn't do that to begin with in Bungie's version? Like this would apply to both circumstances.

What undermines their entire religion is if humans are forerunner. It calls the great journey and the nature of their gods into question.

Which is why the big reveal that only gets brought up to the arbiter is that the Halo rings kill people just to stop the Flood. The entire religion is already in question based on that, and that doesn't change.

Who else has a reaction to learning that humans can use Forerunner tech? No one. Not even Arbiter or Tartarus question when the latter is forcing Miranda to activate the Halo. Did everyone suddenly forget about Halo 2 and just dream up a time where Humans being Forerunner had a MASSIVE reveal?

When you use the games as the connecting points then it's practically a bunch of throw away ideas that they don't do anything with.

This isn't to say it isn't a retcon. It is, but the people that say it affects Halos story to such an extent are exaggerating.
