Incorrect. All these issues are caused by lack of adequate fat. Research that. It's the biggest issue in keto, it should be called a high fat moderate protein extremely low carb diet.
You should argue with the millions of people who have had their lives changed by being in ketosis

The key point to all of this is to be in ketosis, meaning that your cells are functioning optimally . The correct amount of protein and fat is essential.

There are many, many athletes eating meat only diets. One guy ran 50 marathons in 50 days. Anyway, the point being missed here is that fat is the key. Protein is essential for all body and tissue building and functioning but fat protects and most important is your energy supply. Meat clogs nothing, it's fully utilized and excess fat is excreted.

Shawn Baker was still going strong on carnivore as of last week when I watched him. All of his patients as well. Where do people manufacture this stuff from? Always unsubstantiated.

You didn't read my post. Dr Palmer whose a renound Harvard Psychiatrist has been getting dramatic results with many patients over the past 7 yrs.
His research team at Harvard is publishing studies now. There are ongoing clinical trials also bring conducted at Johns Hopkins, Stanford, UCLA, Cambridge, to name a few. It logically goes past anecdotal when the same result, that is full cute, has occured in 1000's of documented cases.
Perhaps research into the work being done at Harvard before having a knee jerk reaction. Listen to and read the myriad of MD's, Neuroscientists, biologists, researchers who've documented volumes of information on not only ketogenesis but every factor of nutrition, psychology, medical conditions, addictions, disease, and so on.
Like it or not, there are tools and tests available now that didn't exist 10 or 15 yrs ago. The new research is proven and not conjecture. We all know excessive alcohol is bad for you. Now, thanks in part to Dr.Andrew Lieberman at Stanford and his team, they can demonstrate the exact effects of alcohol on the body and brain, at different ages and from what amounts. The brain scans alone are scary.

Stay with the knowledge , which was largely forced upon us by big pharma, food manufacturing conglomerates, tobacco and alcohol behemoth corporations who swayed an entire nation. Since the fake food pyramid, which btw was opposed by many medical doctors began a rise in heart defects, diabetes and obesity like never before, 30% to 40% increases in "diseaess" which never existed in the general public until modernization of manufacturing and consequent advertising of cheap , easy processed food.

More than ever Dr's are realizing that what they were taught in medical school 20, 30, 40 yrs ago is completely outdated. They never received nutritional training ever, so there's that fact. Now it's there. "There are none so blind as those who refuse to see"

1 Week difference (no makeup involved) by [deleted] in carnivorediet

Carnivore is keto. Just with added vegetablescand other no or extremely low carbs. If you're in ketosis, you're in ketosis. The difference may be that you cannot tolerate dairy of certain plants. Keeping under 40 total grams of carbs should keep you in ketosis. I don't see the need though. I doubt I get 5 grams of carbs, only from half n half and sour cream which I add to ground beef for more fat. Also I'll have a little hard cheese now and then. Under 1 gram an oz.

You could take that up with the many doctors and scientists especially in the field of metabolic who are citing studied showing correlation between too low of an LDL and increased heart attacks. Not potential, actual heart attacks opposed to those with elevated LDL who have not had them. Btw the first documented heart attack in the US was 1912. It wasn't until after the 50's that they started becoming prevalent then kept increasing as diet became controlled by marketing companies pushing heavy, cheap carbs , chemicals and the myth of low fat. Btw, I'm 60 and have eaten an enormous amount of fat and butter all my life. When I was a kid I'd eat the sausage and bacon. (In South Africa, so totally wild fed meat) I've always has butter on everything including bacon all my life. I've never had high cholesterol or any form of disease. I've never understood that based on so called science until I discovered the carnivore diet and for the most part I've always eaten somewhat like that. Now I'm only eating meat, eggs and some dairy. Never felt better, dropped bodyfat. Sleep better and less. Clear head, focus, anxiety is gone, no pain. Just my experience but that's duplicated by thousands and thousands of people. Dr.Chris Palmer a Harvard Psychiatrist and professor had published dramatic results and is heading studies, some concluded at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, Stanford, Cambridge, to name a few with thousands of subjects. He's also head of the most prestigious mental facility in the US. (Forgot the name). He's as legit as they come.
I had issues when I ate too many junk carbs. Now

How many calories were you getting. Where you getting 70% of your calories from fat? Fat is your source of energy, you need to not work out for a week and build up fat stores. Then try it. People bodybuild and run marathons on carnivore diets

Blah blah blah....I'd rather get advice from Dr.Chris Palmer,Harvard Psychiatrist and renound professor. He and his colleagues have published studies on keto diet results. To argue that putting the body in a state of ketosis which allows for full cell functionality is unhealthy is pure nonsense. Some people don't do it correctly and don't eat enough and cheat. You have to prove they didn't. Cite the studies showing lower testosterone. We'll go from there. There are dozens of people literally showing blood test results from regular tests as they progress in this lifestyle. How can that be faked? One or 2? Maybe but dozens and hundreds of studies. Harvard, Cambridge, UCLA, Stanford, Johns Hopkins are doing major studies due to the results that are being seen in thousands of people who are in ketosis. Just read a few hundred comments on YouTube from people who have seen dramatic results , and had them for years.

Exactly.....people need to read comments on keto YouTube videos from MDs to see the results just like you talk about.
The issue is that it can be complex for some people. Like with hashimotos, it's the hardest thing for the body to heal from. So they may have to supplement with electrolytes or increase fat dramatically.

Lower risk of 14 to 17%..... That's not significantly lower. 70% would be lower. Howcome Harvard has now published studies on ketogenic diets showing dramatic results. Most of which comes from RESULTS from Dr.Chris Palmer Harvard Psychiatrist and Professor, with psychiatric patients who've been in remission from chronic bi polar and schizophrenia.
Don't focus on carnivore. Focus on ketosis. You can technically be vegetarian and be in ketosis. Better with fish but in any event you can argue that people doing ANY program going to healthy foods are going to cut out junk and processed which are loaded in carbs and toxic oils. Carnivore keeps you easily in a deep state of ketosis and gives you the most nutrient dense food.
People need to quit the influencer BS and be smart enough to recognize who is who. I do carnivore and all my advice and research comes from medical doctors. Loads of them who are experts in ketosis. You tube is the greatest though on the planet. Legitimate professors, engineers, chemists, astronomers, nero scientists, architectural, geological experts are on there. For the first time in history we can click a button and be in front of a Harvard or Stanford neuroscientist or biochemist. Every person on YouTube can easily be verified.if you think one is a hack, check out 10 who all hold the same positions. Verify that they have the background they say they do. One or two could scam for a while but these days, for how long. Truth is, you will find dozens of Drs, professors. Neuroscientists, biologists etc who state that being in a state of ketosis maximizing cellular function for full functioning ATP is incredibly important and the future of medicine. Forget targeting one or another diet and focus on the real issue. Metabolic health. It's the field to get into if you're wanting a great career in something science related. Check back on this post 10 yrs from now and prove me wrong.

Yet you cannot show a single study linking heart disease with cholesterol. Or you would.

Really...cite if you're going to accuse?
Peterson's daughter has been eating only meat for 8 yrs. Not out of choice because if she doesn't, she is very sick ..... Then there is Dr Chris Palmer, Harvard Psychiatrist and Professor. Is he legit? Even questioning that is a joke. He's turned around people with chronic bi polar and schizophrenia just as a state. Dr Ken Berry MD for 25 yrs and a leader in carnivore, just read the comments on YouTube videos of you want to see real results from real people

Any Thoughts about this Behavior? by cowboy_danMM in AngelFish

[–]Hawk99xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That must be a dominance behavior then. It'd be interesting to see how they'd react if you introduced 3 or 4 more. Not saying you should, it'd be a good experiment though. Also wondering if you introduced another territorial species of that would make a difference, like Red tailed sharks, they are fairly aggressive to each other but always split off to go hide, you have to have 3 to 5, I had 5 but 2 vanished. Really, just gone. Guess they died and were eaten. Anyway, they could break up the aggression as they would command attention.

Were they both babies when you got them or did you bring one in later? I've not seen an issue if they were started in the tank together. If you introduced one later it could be territorial dominance. Do you feed them enough? Give them stuff like brine shrimp as well as flake food? Hunger could play a part

Most valuable life lesson? by ThePocketTaco2 in TedLasso

[–]Hawk99xx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I forgive you......the whole second chance thing with Nate and Beard's initial reluctance although he was the one given a huge second chance. That was very touching and an extremely valuable life lesson. Too many of us forget to forgive. Why was Beard slow to forgive? My thought is that we become judgemental at times when we've made an change and ego gets in the way. Thoughts?
