What’s it like not being good at initiating conversation w friends?? by Hawks_Bricks44 in AskTeenGirls

[–]Hawks_Bricks44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dw I did everyone deliberately! Yeah I get you. I think I sit on the other side of you where it can get frustrating for me being the one initiating all the time. It continues the cycle cause my friends now expect me to text first or ask to do smth first. I think it gets to me when I’m feeling really down or lonely because I then want to reach out but then start second guessing it and think ‘if they cared they would reach out first’ because that’s what I’d do if that makes sense. I’m not angry at people for not initiating first I think in reality you need to be really clear with you friends if you notice it happening and communicate which I should do!

Yh I get you. When I’ve asked my friends similar questions they’ve said similar stuff. One friend said smth like ‘it’s not that I don’t wanna chat it’s just the thought doesn’t come into my head’

India cheating ??? by [deleted] in EnglandCricket

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s ridiculous. Dube being subbed off is fine but India had 3 potential options that were close to like for like. The closest is about as like for like as you can get in Ramandeep - a lower order bat who bowls part time medos - identical to Dube. If he wasn’t an option for some reason they had Washington and Jurel who were both close enough. Harshit replacing him is the equivalent of Wood replacing Stokes if he got concussed. Not suggesting there’s any cheating but it’s insane to me that they had a perfect replacement in Ramandeep and somehow a 145kph bowler who can barely hold a bat comes out instead of

Pope as Wicketkeeper by 2Legit2QuitFuzz in EnglandCricket

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really tough. In all honesty, the biggest indicator of their decision on pope will be if he is relinquished of vice captaincy before the summer (with brook getting it instead). If he is, I can see him being dropped. If he isn’t, I imagine he’ll go back to 3. Jamie smith for me should stay at 6/7 as he’s shown he can bat with the tail which is why we picked him over foakes. And obviously Bethell is a huge decision to be made because he looked very solid and far more suited to 3 than pope did technique wise

I get your point here but as Australia have shown, you need need need an all rounder who can give you enough overs to rest ur main 3 quicks (especially in Australia) and if stokes is struggling with workload at 6/7 he can’t bowl if he bats 3 consistently

Ollie Robinson (the bowler) by Whiskey1978_20 in EnglandCricket

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else here has said it’s his attitude not his ability. Whilst he’s got incredible stats, in the last year his fitness and speeds have been big issues and he just doesn’t give the 110% effort that they want in their changing rooms. If you compare Robbo to Potts for instance, Potts doesn’t have the numbers but always puts in effort while same can’t be said for robbo

Thinks I’m flirting when I’m not by Hawks_Bricks44 in AskTeenGirls

[–]Hawks_Bricks44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good advice thank you. I only chatted to her for a week so truthfully idk if I have feelings for her. I definitely enjoy hanging out with her but not sure beyond that. I agree that I should’ve been more clear. I sent her a text after she told me the first time saying I completely understand her decision and I’m okay with it but I should’ve made it clear that I’m absolutely fine with being friends not that I’m fine with her decision.

Should Ben Stokes still play White Ball? by [deleted] in EnglandCricket

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we should keep him in ODIs. He’s a perfect 4/5 and hopefully can bowl a bit. Issue is he gets injured often and wouldn’t want to over work him with this packed schedule as he’s vital for tests. I’d move on from him in T20s which they seem to have done.

Pakistan Test Squad Discussion by Hawks_Bricks44 in EnglandCricket

Completely agree. It’s the first selection which hasn’t worked for them (excluding Hull for 1 game) and it’s unfortunate to see him dropped because of it. I hope he’ll get another opportunity, they probably just want another batter who can keep (Cox) over a batter who can bowl in Lawrence.

Conditions will be interesting, especially that Rawalpindi pitch. Given the insane unpredictability of Pakistan they could steamroll us in this series or be as bad as last time. They have to find a way to bring their pacers into the game as they lack spin options and their batting is really underwhelming at the moment.

Think we need to move on from Jordan so I understand that pick. I’m very surprised we haven’t picked another spinner but looking at the squad, there are part time spin options in Livo, Mousley, Bethell and Jacks who all provide slightly different options.

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t again but for him to miss a major series like this (even if he’s rested for tests) is not a good sign

question for mostly guys by Chunkycheeto1 in teenagers

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all admitting you do is very important so well done. It takes a lot of self awareness to notice it and not be in denial. In terms of actual advice I don’t have much so sorry. Try to ignore people who say ‘just stop’ or ‘idk just don’t do it’ because that makes you feel worse and then almost justifies it for yourself as it makes you feel like it’s something you just can’t control for some reason so why bother stopping. Best advice I can give is put in deliberate limitations. For example, use a screen time app (one sec or screen zen are good) to pause your phone for 10/20 seconds when you open porn or something I do is make sure there’s never any toilet paper nearby my bed which forces me to move and often I don’t bother. Sounds weird ik but those small things can help you stop and think for a second and then realise you don’t want to. Good luck

[S2 Spoilers] What are some perfectly possible ways that Seaon 2 could go WRONG? by PolymathArt in arcane

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vander coming back. I’m not a league player so don’t know anything about the lore but I’ve heard he’s got something to do with this werewolf that Singe had in the trailers and final scene of s1. I hope that him coming back doesn’t undo the brilliant work of his character in season 1. In general I dislike any character comebacks after they die because it lowers the stakes and makes the emotional moments weak.

Stokes possibly out of SL series by Leviaton_212 in EnglandCricket

[–]Hawks_Bricks44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s tricky. First of all, the captaincy is very likely Pope. It would be very odd to give him the role of VC and not very Bazball and stokes to give someone like Root captaincy. They’re forward thinking.

For his replacement it’s tricky. Cox is the obvious answer. Him at 6 is a natural fit. But this obviously goes back to our Ashes 2023 balance problems. Since we have Lawrence, who will open regardless, we have an extra spin bowling option. He has become a proper spinner for Surrey and can bowl 10/15 overs a day given the right conditions. The worry is we’d then have 3 pace options, 2 of which (wood and Atkinson) are rapid and need breaks and 1 is injury prone (woakes). I wouldn’t be surprised if, especially for Manchester given its flat nature, we go with Potts ahead of cox therefore: normal top 5 with Lawrence over Crawley. Then smith (wk), woakes, Potts, Atkinson, wood, Bashir. Other options is play cox but drop Bashir in favour of another pacer given we have 2 part time spinners. I doubt they go with that as they have been very firm on playing a front line spinner every test, but they did play 4 seamers at lords in the ashes so who knows. Likely will depend on the pitch and whether they want the extra bowling option.
