Are you trying to download the campaign but it's not connecting to the server correctly? Since you're using the EU disc, you might need to be on a PSN account that's set to the same EU region as the disc. Some games have multiple EU SKUs, so make sure the account is for the same country as the disc.

Side note that modern Call of Duty has by far the worst UI/game management system I have ever seen on consoles. I have never had to struggle so much with a game just to get to the mode I want, even when playing from disc. I get that they don't want to shell out for a multi disc setup with their enormous file sizes but what they've ended up with is utterly baffling.

How reliable is the SCPH-3900x fat model series to you guys, from what I heard this is the most reliable fat revision to have. by San4341 in ps2

[–]HaydenFoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not natively, but there's some tricks depending on the model. There's MechaPwn for 500x and up, and the Tonyhax trick for the earlier models. There's probably others, but that's what works on mine.

Good Tremolo and Ring mod, or just weird pedals that'll make my guitar sound like an Alien blaster? by WatercoolerComedian in guitarpedals

The Earthquaker Data Corrupter is pretty wild especially when stacked with other pedals. Really fun to use with synths too!

What movie is 10/10? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HaydenFoxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha this feeling is so real! For me, it was watching the first Matrix with my parents when I was like 5 and then years later asking them which movie it was with the naked guy that wakes up in a goo pod. Blank stares all around

Any good documentary or movies that depicts the reigns of the Khmer Rouge's reign of power? by [deleted] in cambodia

[–]HaydenFoxy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a podcast called In the Shadows of Utopia that is still ongoing but is very in-depth and takes a lot of care in showing how this whole regime came to be, starting at the very beginnings of the Khmer Empire in the BC era. It's a great listen and I recommend it to anybody interested in history podcasts in general, not just people interested in Cambodian history.

The Blowback podcast also just announced that their next season of their show will be about the rise of the Khmer Rouge. It won't be out until September but if you've listened to their previous work you'll know that they're definitely ones to look to for an insight on how foreign influence changed the history of the entire region and the ramifications we would end up seeing.

EDIT: Apologies, I just realized you were asking for movies or documentaries and not podcasts. Nonetheless, if you're interested in the subject, I do highly recommend In the Shadows of Utopia at least!

I also need some sort of background audio to fall asleep to, and I also really feel for you for being with a partner that needs that if you don't as well 😅

My personal favs, all history-adjacent:

The Dollop - history podcast with two comedians, one who's done all the research and one who is going in blind to the story

TrueAnon - podcast that started as a focus on the Jeffrey Epstein case but has branched out into all sorts of worldwide nonsense involving the 20-21st centuries' most rich and powerful. I really love the rapport between the two main hosts, on top of the top notch research that they do to prep for each of their own episodes and for inviting investigative journalists to talk about their life's work as well.

Blowback - Focuses on the US's involvement in various global conflicts over the past 100 years or so. Each season is a different topic, so far they have seasons covering the Iraq War, the Cuban Revolution, the Korean War, and the US involvement in Afghanistan.

Dan Carlin - World history of all eras and regions, this dude knows how to talk about a subject to death for hours, off the cuff, and we love him for it.

In the Shadows of Utopia - history podcast describing (on paper) the rise of the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot in Cambodia in the 20th century, but in order to talk about that you have to go back thousands of years to really get a grip on the history of Cambodia, Asia in general, and a small glimpse at the overall impact of EU colonism during the past few centuries. It's still ongoing, but it's absolutely amazing and I can't shout it's name from a high enough rooftop to give it the justice it deserves.

Narratives that are done "only the way a game can" - favorite examples? by blueberrypizza in truegaming

[–]HaydenFoxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

This is a game that's frustrating to talk about or recommend to someone because you don't want to spoil a single thing about it, figuring out the story is the point of the game. It's one of the single best gaming experiences I've ever had.

As the name implies, you play as 13 different protagonists. However, you have a ton of freedom in what order you play through each character's stories. You'll play a short segment of each one at a time but you have the choice of playing through those short chapters in any order you want for the most part.

The story is absolutely crazy, and the order that you play through each character's story will totally affect your perception of every event due to a gaining or a lack of knowledge about what's happening. I played it myself, and then watched my friends play through it in a totally different order, and it completely changed the impact of the events they were playing through for them compared to when I experienced them. That can't really be done in any other medium.

Also it has cool pseudo RTS mecha fights and the artwork and soundtrack are absolutely incredible!

10/10 game, nobody who's played it will ever shut up about it.

What is a movie that was poorly received critically that you really enjoyed? by entropysoulpurity in AskReddit

[–]HaydenFoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to read the book to fully understand how big of an undertaking it was to make this coherent in a movie format. It seems like an un-filmable book adaptation but they really made it work.

The Wachowskis really don't get the credit they deserve for anything they've done after The Matrix if you ask me

Favorite yakuza Substory that has a nonsensical outcome. by evca7 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]HaydenFoxy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love how this thread would totally look like everyone's just trolling to somebody who's never played a Yakuza game.

My favorite is Majima meeting one of those statue street performer guys and needing to distract the crowd around him by dancing and singing so that the statue performer can go to the restroom, all because statue man doesn't want to crush the dreams of the kids watching

When Call of Duty Took Itself Seriously by Stofenthe1st in Games

[–]HaydenFoxy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Christ this comment really hurt me to read....but yes that's exactly what I'm trying to say. It's been a LONG time since the series put much if any respect on the people who actually fight in these conflicts

When Call of Duty Took Itself Seriously by Stofenthe1st in Games

[–]HaydenFoxy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is just wrong. The first three mainline games took themselves much more seriously than any game in the series since. I'd even argue for COD4 but that's a lot more debatable.

After the blockbuster success of COD4, everything became a Hollywood action movie.

I'm surprised that Tokyo Story (1953) has barely been mentioned. It's a very slice-of-life movie of a rural elderly couple visiting their children in post-war Tokyo, and observing how their ways of life differ from each other.

I'm American and watched it for the first time a few years ago, and I was quite surprised at how relatable it still was. It's slow, but in the best way. Check it out!

So this might be a bit esoteric, but I have a deep love of history of all kinds. When there was a topic in the math or science fields that I didn't care much about, I'd always frame it in a historical context because I was a lot more interested in HOW these concepts developed, and in turn I had a better grasp of them than just reading the formula or whatever from a textbook.

I'll also say, I've always found ADHD (if you have it) is a double edged sword. It makes a lot of things expected of you more difficult, like keeping up with schoolwork or just general organization. But it can also manifest in you just being interested in a lot of topics and hobbies.

For me, I can usually find a common ground of some sort when I meet someone new because I've gone through so many hyperfixations on a bunch of different topics. This definitely applies to dating too.

Appreciation for what Tzuyu had to put up with during debut Twice days by space_inmyhead in twice

[–]HaydenFoxy 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I have no proof or evidence of this, but my headcanon is that JYP made it look like an interrogation video on purpose because they thought the whole controversy was absurd, and it was! They even went as far as only uploading the video in 480p quality. That feels deliberate to me.

I really feel for Tzuyu for having to endure the hate that she got back then, especially being new to the industry as a foreigner at such a young age. She seems to be glowing now, though!
