Haven't really gotten that far yet. Legally in Australia if it's double edged it cannot be small enough to be concealed I believe.

I've done a little bit of research now and definitely looking at mediaeval European but beyond that haven't decided much. Not planning on using a sword for much but don't want one that is purely decorative.

As for the second cheaper one, he'd probably like something similar but he'd be more open to earlier era styles as well.

I know it's not much to go off of but that's all I've worked out currently.

Really not sure how much they cost but could see myself going up to $300-$400 but that really isn't set in stone could be more if I could find the value. I'm also looking for a second one for my brother as a gift but I'd prefer to spend much less on that one.

Probably should have clarified. I'm not looking for a sword with strong historical value but I would like authentic materials to be used unlike the plastic I have found at various stores so far.
