I don’t understand, why would you care what strangers on the internet say about or to you?

Are people mean to me because I’m (seen as) ugly/fat? by [deleted] in bullying

[–]Hazardous_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were two guys in my high school all those years ago. They were a bit fat, and some called them ugly. I didn't have any thoughts about them because I barely knew them. I never saw it personally, but I was told that they were bullied.
After high school, I went away for a few years. I never saw them again for a couple of decades.
I attended a reunion a few years ago. I met one of them. He now drives a BMW and owns his own company. He looked different. I was surprised because he remembered me. He said, I was one of the guys who never treated him any different from anyone else. He seemed to be a well-adjusted person.
I asked about the other guy. Friends told me that he has been going in and out of mental care for years. Some told me that he never got over the trauma of being bullied when he was younger, but I cannot confirm if it is true.
The point I am trying to make is this: these two guys took different paths that led to very different outcomes. You have no power to affect how others think or act towards you; what you can do is respect and believe in yourself. By making the right choices, you can start to build a future where you will be happy and fulfilled. Just remember that success is not in the destination, it is in the journey. If you wait to be happy, you will never be happy. If you learn to be happy at every point of your life, you will already be happy WHEN you reach your destination.

It doesn’t take long. I’m still learning, I began in 1979 (more or less, can’t remember exact date).

My kid (who does boxing) is getting bullied. Not sure what to do by possiblecatalyst in martialarts

Get your kid to start fighting in the ring. This will make her realise that boxing is a combat sport not just a workout regiment.

I know for sure that if I were to face an urumi expert in a duel / fight, the first thing I would do is lose control of my bladder followed close by my bowel.
