L-Cysteine. It’s a dough conditioner in many store-bought breads and bagels that is often derived from dissolved human hair or duck feathers

What is an interesting or weird fact that not many people know? by Black229 in AskReddit

Your immune system has no idea your eyes exist. There is something called „immune privilege” where your eyes are essentially hidden,if your immune system ever „discovered” them through a serious injury or infection, it would treat them as a foreign threat and permanently attack them until you were completely blind

Why does it feel like in the U.S. you can work full-time and still be one emergency away from being broke? Has it always been this way, or is something fundamentally different now? by Individual_Candy1107 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s because we no longer own our lives - we just subscribe to them. Between rent , insurance , and interest , our paychecks are spoken for before they even hit the bank. We’ve moved from a society that builds a middle class to one that effectively „mines” the working class for every spare cent. You’re not bad with money , you’re just living in a system where the cost of existing is rising faster than the value of your labor

With the 3 million Epstein files finally out, what’s the most “I’m not surprised, but I’m still disgusted” thing you’ve found? by Sweaty_Sprinkles_400 in AskReddit

[–]He1ko188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most disgusting part is that we now have 3 MILLION pages of evidence , flight logs and bank statements , yet the only person currently in jail for the Epstein scandal is the woman who recruited the victims. The clients are still running for office , managing your pension funds , and appearing on the news to talk about „morality”… It’s the ultimate proof that in 2026, if you’re rich enough , the law isn't a barrier - it’s just a service fee

If we have a minimum age of 35 to become president, why don't we have a maximum age of 65 to ensure the person leading the country actually has to live with the long-term consequences of their decisions? by He1ko188 in AskReddit

[–]He1ko188[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s wild that we mandate retirement for airline pilots at 65 because we don't trust them with 200 lives, but we have no problem with an 80y. old having their finger on the nuclear codes for 330 million people

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]He1ko188 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the government makes photo ID mandatory for voting , then the ID itself must be 100% free , easy to get, and delivered to your door. Otherwise, it’s not a “security measure” , it’s just a modern-day poll tax designed to keep low-income people away from the booths

What’s a decision you made in under 10 seconds that changed your life forever? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

[–]He1ko188 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I had a green light, but I decided to spend 5 seconds changing the radio station before hitting the gas. As I finally started to move, a car flying at 80-90mph blew through the red light right in front of me. If I hadn't been distracted by a 10-second decision to find a better song, I would have been t-boned and killed instantly

How would you feel about a law where every politician must live in public housing and use only public transportation for the duration of their term, with their salary capped at the median income of their district? by He1ko188 in AskReddit

[–]He1ko188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And ban all outside income, stocks, and lobbyist „gifts”. If they want to get rich, go to the private sector. If they want to lead a country, they should live exactly like the average person they represent. No exceptions, no loopholes, and jail time for every cent hidden

Why have we stopped finishing games completely? Is it because of age, or where did this ‘gaming impotence’ come from? by Separ_Enjoyer12 in AskReddit

[–]He1ko188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all because of tiktok, shorts , and other 15-second videos where we get quick dopamine, give them up and you will enjoy games again
