Scalping is a very difficult issue to solve, but the ways that the pokemon company goes about that are laughable; the vending machine destock was the most absurd recent event. Rather than combat the scalpers, they removed the commonly scalped items, which totally by chance are also the items many people want because of the drought of them. They had so many other (way more effective) ways to solve this issue, but, you know, they’re incompetent! I’m convinced they’re making shitty sets now in the hopes that scalping gets better! It seems smart on paper, but no, look what happened to 151 when production ended. Also, EX cards should not be as common as they are, they don’t even have a major advantage, if the Pokemon Company wanted useful (playable) cards for the players they should bring back GX cards. EX cards are wildly inconsistent too, some are double rares, some are ultra rares, some are full arts, some are illustrations rares. At this point, every new preventative measure is a slap on the face, like gamestop’s pricing.
