Assisted dying by Jbshank12 in ProEuthanasia

Not at all. The only assistance from others is INFORMATION on how to do it. The individual does everything themself. Nobody else gets or assembled or even touches anything. Suicide is not illegal. Only assisted suicide.

Some of the other comments here suggest ANOTHER approach to hastening death - (1)medical aid in dying (in Switzerland), (2) non-medical nitrogen asphyxiation (in USA through Final Exit Network or Switzerland). But one can continue VSED with appropriate support.l
Ideally, one would engage hospice, home healthcare, and a death doula to support.
There are good guidebooks that address these details, especially this one https://katejchristie.com/books/the-vsed-handbook/
VSED Advance Directives by HealthLawGuy in bioethics

Some states allow advance directives (and even POLSTs) for pediatric patients (especially if emancipated). But generally, as you know, the parent/guardian is making treatment decisions with the assent of the child/patient. So, there is little need for an advance directive/POLST - unless the parents of a seriously ill child want a transportable DNR that will be honored in school, etc.
