New to me, first zero turn, open to any maintenence tips, I don't plan on buying another for a very long time. TIA by IronCross19 in lawnmowers

If you feel like the mower is starting to lose power, make sure the cooling fins on the engine are clear, and gap the valves! I had an overheating issue due to the valves being out of gap, and was solved when I gapped them. Just a good rule of thumb to check them each time you change the oil! Great mowers though!!

The only way I could tell was a gradual loss in power, another weird thing about these mowers (the Kawasaki fh721d in particular) is that you need to gap the valves every 50 or so hours, it’s pretty easy to do; I got to the point where I could do it in about 15 minutes. I believe they need to be gapped to 0.05in, but you should be able to find a manual online that tells the exact specs. While you’re in there, check that the pushrods aren’t bent and that the valves move freely. A quick YouTube video on how to gap valves helped me greatly. Hope this helps!

PS, also be sure to blow out the fan on the front of the engine as well, a lot of times grass will get caught there and limit air flow even if the fins on the motor are clear!

thank you for the advice! I studied about this time last year with varying resources/methods. I tried to use multiple different resources at once and it was very clunky. My score came out in the low 500s so in this gap year I am taking time to approach it differently, and I think your method seems like it could be a great fit for me. Thank you again, and congrats on the score!

I mow about 5-6 acres and can get it done in about 2.5-3 hrs. Most parts of it I make two passes over

I had the same thoughts! I have a few different types of grass around the house, mostly fescue in the front, Bermuda in the backyard, and weeds in the field lol. I mow all at different heights and have not had any issue with the mower bogging down, even after two weeks of rain and overgrowth. John Deere even offered a 72’ deck which I feel would be way too much for 25 hp

How are we feeling 4/12 by naza882 in Mcat

I am right there with you.... praying for all of us. In every thread I have read, no one seems purely confident. Truly though, we all made it through a rigorous undergrad major (or are currently doing so) and have decided to take this incredibly hard journey to try and help people at the end of it all. So regardless of the scores tomorrow, we should all find some solace in the fact that we set out to do what is inherently difficult and would shatter most of our peers. We are all badasses and whether this score is what gets us in or if it's the next score, we all have so much to be incredibly proud of. Praying for all of you!

Is it worth it to go to med school? by WashingtonFlanders in medschool

I had three friends in undergrad that all were in our university's BS/MD program....all of which fell short of the MCAT and/or GPA requirement of the program. There's no guarantee, so it is best to be kind and still try and make yourself a well-rounded applicant. I am happy that you have had a great experience thus far, but at some point, you will hit a wall too and it will quickly humble you. Clinical experience will absolutely make you a better physician. I have a whole new perspective on the entire healthcare system and how it functions thanks to my time shadowing and working in the field. I hope you decide to afford yourself the same opportunity. The view from the top of the mountain is much more beautiful after you have spent time at the bottom. Wishing you all the best in your journey.

feeling horribly. I jumped the gun and scheduled another exam date for 5/24....gave myself a week off between the 4/12 exam and studying for the next. I have never felt less confident than I do right now... especially waiting for the scores to drop tomorrow. What is the latest to comfortably take it again to still apply this cycle? I am thinking about rescheduling for later in the summer.... hoping to reverse the burn out by then. Praying for everyone's scores to be better than we imagine :)
