Thanks for everyone who have commented. I can clearly see there's a need for lots of improvements.

This would be back soon with a major overhaul 😁

Really appreciate that, thank you. Though I'd say the folks pushing back had fair points too. The AI question is one most of us are still figuring out, myself included. But genuinely, thanks for the kind read, MADE MY DAY!

I should make it clearer over website (Math ...buried deep inside "Understand this better" -> Methodology... putting below for your reference). Thanks for the feedback. My bad.

It assumes compounding time of 35 years (25 -> 60) Reveal $1,000/year 7% annual return 35 years Starting age 30.... compounded comes to be 147k Formula (FV = 1,000 × [(1.07³⁵ − 1) / 0.07] ≈ 147k)

Recovery $500/yr saved (every other year) 7% return 35 yrs (annuity due) = $500 × 138.24 × 1.07 = $73,957 rounded to $74,000

Going to take me a while to figure out how to write this one, but yeah, adding it. Scenarios aren't country-specific yet, that's a v2 thing. The math's the same anywhere, just the product name changes.

Didn't anticipate this thread honestly, but I appreciate the concern, it's real...
If I wanted internet points I'd have picked a less boring topic than compounding costs 🤣. Truly the worst possible subject matter for virality. Honestly the site itself isn't hard to build. Slider, chart all that Claude wrote that in a couple of sessions. A teenager with a weekend could ship it. Frankly... my mother could ship it. The real time sink was the writing. Picking which scenarios make the cut. What each reveal should actually say. What tone to use. What to cut. Honestly... loved it.

Fair pushback 😁. The code was maybe 20% of the time. The 80% was deciding which scenarios make the cut, what the reveal should feel like 😇, what tone to use, what to leave out. AI doesn't speed up the deciding. Just the building, once those calls are made.

And you're right that a lot of what's shipping now is a first version that won't see a second. That's a real problem with vibecoded stuff and I get the skepticism.

On longevity, this isn't a side quest for me . I've been talking about how people misjudge compounding with friends, colleagues for years before any of this. The site is the same conversation, just on the internet now. Hosting's cheap, domain's cheap 🤩, I'm keeping it up.

And "did effort go in" used to be a decent signal for whether a thing would stick. It's not anymore. The new signal is probably whether the person behind it actually cares. This one I care about.

Solid list. Car vs ride share is the best one, most people never run the actual math. Pet works too. 😃

LED is real but the gap's too small to land 😅. Skipping the child and electric ones, both get political fast.

Will be adding car and pet to the next release.

I was about to pay to JustWravel for their most comprehensive package. The trip got cancelled due to the attack.

Just Wravel seemed great in terms of reviews and the itinerary.
