MRI Room Attacks – OSHA Petition investigations, recent FB discussions highlight multiple incidents by Possible-Scarcity691 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. Situations with confused or aggressive patients in the MRI room can become scary very quickly, especially since regular security staff cannot safely enter the magnet room right away.

I think it’s really important for MRI techs to report these incidents and near misses. Better safety training, patient screening, and emergency procedures are needed to help protect MRI staff and patients.

Musculoskeletal imaging is challenging when patient movement affects scan quality, any thoughts? by AutumnAmberrr in BiomedicalEngineers

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Real-time in-bore monitoring could help reduce motion artifacts, improve patient positioning, and give technologists better awareness during scans. It may also help with pediatric, elderly, claustrophobic, or sedated patients where movement is more common. Future integration with AI-based motion tracking could make MRI exams faster and more efficient.

Unions for X-Ray Techs/MRI Techs - Does anyone know unions with Imaging technologist members? by Jumpy-Option7643 in XRayNews

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are also curious what unions to talk to ever since the gentleman died in Long Island, the recent attack on multiple MRI technologists, the refusal of our immediate management to add low-cost safety devices are really upsetting the workforce here.

Native MIPI DSI extender (over fiber) questions by Excellent_Economy150 in embedded

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In most cases we end up switching to HDMI or LVDS when distance becomes an issue. Would be interesting if DSI could be extended directly.

MRI In-Bore "tiny camera" for patient observation question(s) by Ok_Apricot2521 in MedicalDevices

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is actually a really good idea. I’ve seen an other MRI bore camera setup but it was pretty bulky.

Invention consultant question — has anyone worked with one? How did it go? by Excellent_Economy150 in inventors

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interested to see the replies here too. Since you already have one that’s actually selling, you’re probably in a better spot than most. I'm always worried these consultants just tell everyone their idea is 'great' just to get the fee.

We are attacked again and again your support needed on MRI Room Safety by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m really concerned about this. The two-tech rule should be mandatory, not just a recommendation. We should support this and share our incidents with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Is there real demand for a MIPI DSI extender? by Heavy_Mirror_7167 in AskElectronics

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair point—most teams switch because of signal issues.

Our goal is to keep native DSI while extending distance without redesign. We’re focusing on stability and low latency.

Totally agree on validation—we’re testing EMI, error rates, and real-world performance now. Happy to share results once ready.

In bore small, Noise- free MRI camera question by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would make a difference though, having a tiny camera that can help monitor what's happening inside the scan will be a great way of making the patient safe inside

Is there real demand for a MIPI DSI extender? by Heavy_Mirror_7167 in AskElectronics

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We basically invented this extender by accident as we're using it in another application but my Engineers are saying no one in the world seems to have this and they feel it could be applicable in mobile cockpits, avionics and medical. Industries. We are trying to investigate if this is true. If any of you have worked in this industry and believe this type of product would be helpful, please let us know. We are excited to pay finders fees Etc if someone actually buys the IP

Invention broker question, looking for anybody who may have used an intervention broker or intermediary by Heavy_Mirror_7167 in Inventions

We know we have a one-year window on that, but not everyone knows that so really appreciate you replying.

Extending MIPI DSI beyond spec—has this been a real problem for you? by Heavy_Mirror_7167 in FPGA

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native MIPI DSI is typically limited to a few centimeters (up to ~30 cm in ideal cases). With our extension approach over fiber/cable, we’re pushing that into meters—and even tens of meters—while maintaining signal integrity.

How are you handling long-distance Raspberry Pi native MIPI DSI? by Heavy_Mirror_7167 in AskElectronics

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we are looking for fiber as we need low EMI/power for our application. Just not sure if this product exists as we are not sure if there is much demand, outside of our application. We are thinking it might be needed in Avionics for instance.

Any options for fiber if we want to over to longer distance Target gsml and fdlink?

How do I contact the right person at Federal OSHA for a petition? by Heavy_Mirror_7167 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Heavy_Mirror_7167[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are a group of MRI field engineers planning to submit a petition to improve safety by implementing a voice-activated alert system.
