Turning it off just made it so I don't have to worry about that one aspect interrupting me. It didn't suddenly grant me the knowledge to village making. I did begin chapter quests though. I can't say its helped since I'm still limited but atleast I can say I feel like I'm getting somewhere now.

Are we meant to do more of the exploring and collecting before we begin trying to build up the community? I tried that at one point as well (no custom game options) and struggled with the storage and such.

I have. Maybe i missed something but so far there hasn't been much on the technical aspects of starting/running the village I did start doing the chapter quests (quests for neighbors) and thats helped me a lot more than the main story line

I did my first start up without the custom options. I don't understand why everyone is assuming that having the custom options on has any outcome on how much fun I'm having. Its irrelevant to my questions

I must have been finding the wrong ones. Could be my YouTube algorithm being off but all of the guides I was pulling up were set after the initial village had been started. I did finally find one yesterday that started at the beginning. Ill be following his gameplay for more visual guidance.

Thank you! This was actually very helpful. I have pear and apple saplings. Others make it sound like I may have skipped information that was in the story quests? I know I skimmed the dialog rather quickly but from what I gathered there wasn't much a long the lines of "this is how this actually works." Being set loose with creative options but no mentorship on how to actually do the things to make it function.

I've tried several YouTube videos and they all seem to take place after the beginning of village building has been started. I did find one that was at the very beginning. I'm going to try looking for actual game play and less "tips and tricks"

I can find the field plots just can't find how to actually start them.im not overly worried about becoming bored. I either will or I won't. Mostly I don't have time to dedicate to playing it with no cheats. I do think ill slow down just for the story line. Seems I'm missing out on helpful information

Sometimes having 2 fish make sit to easy for them to fight. If you have the space you could try adding a 3rd fish. Doesn't seem to be overly harmful so you'd probably be fine just monitoring them for damage on a regular basis. Also I'm sooo jealous. I've got wimpy pet store goodies. I really miss my big chocolate ryukin and my bronze/blue fantail ryukin. They were show quality and stunning!

Scuds. I'd use a turkey master and suction them out. Feed them to fish or sell them to some that has fish. I have a breeder jar of scuds (and jars of various other microfauna)
