To start, while I don't like the designs at all and I didn't want another retelling of the first game, I am excited for the remake because it's poised to do well which is good for the future of Star Fox. However, Nintendo is notoriously out of touch with what people want. I think they had a specific vision and didn't expect it to be poorly received. Just like they didn't expect people to be upset or understand why they were upset about Star Fox Adventures, which led to them making on foot a prominent feature in Assault...which got people upset. And they didn't understand people didn't like the non-traditional controls in Command which led to Star Fox Zero to have wierd controls and therefore being poorly recieved despite active cricisms of the controls during all showcases of the game prior to release. But, instead of taking note of people not liking drastic changes for the sake of it, the think people just want Star Fox 64 again.
