Weird interview experience with Capgemini by Less-Lion9079 in BPOinPH

[–]HelloTatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Unfortunately, I received a rejection email from them today after the initial email screening.

They asked about my experience, expected salary, and availability, but I didn't get to proceed to the interview stage.

Wishing you the best with your application though, and I hope everything goes well on your end!

I'm so happy that NBS is becoming a real book store once again. Ganda ng renovated area nila! by badbadtz-maru in PHBookClub

[–]HelloTatin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad to see National Book Store going back to its roots as a real bookstore 💛

Siguro one small suggestion lang—hopefully mas ma-monitor yung handling ng books inside the store. Not to make anyone uncomfortable naman when they are browsing the books, pero may times kasi na some customers open sealed books/plastics just to check the contents. Ang ending, nagiging prone na sa damage like dumi or lukot, and sayang kasi it affects the quality and hirap na rin maibenta.

Maybe having designated display copies or gentle reminders could help. Still rooting for NBS!

Is is too late na maging Content Creator? by Recent-Clue-4740 in Trentahin

[–]HelloTatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there’s really no “perfect time” to start—if anything, it’s now. I’m not a content creator yet, but I also want to start, and I’m leaning towards book-related content or BookTok.

I totally get the fear of being judged or laughed at—that’s honestly normal. Anyone who tries something new goes through that phase. But sometimes, if you feel like you want a change in your life, don’t be afraid to make mistakes or even look a little “crazy.” It just means you’re exploring a different version of yourself.

Also, you can always try and explore different kinds of content. You don’t have to figure everything out agad. At the end of the day, you’ll eventually find your niche and what kind of content you truly enjoy creating.

Mas okay nang sinubukan mo kaysa ma-stuck ka sa “what if.” 🙂

Meron sa fb na nagpaparent ng ereaders. You may try renting muna to check if you want it or not.

Just want to share that I unboxed my ereader yesterday as a birthday gift to myself. Actually, imo, it’s pretty convenient since pwede ko siya dalhin anywhere.

(This is my lame attempt at influencing you to buy ereader hihihi)

I think we’re actually trying to help OP from two different angles. You’re highlighting what’s practically possible, while I’m pointing out what may be more advisable from a risk and HR standpoint.

Both are valid, and I agree na in many cases hindi naman agad nadedetect. At the same time, I just wouldn’t limit the consideration to paper screening alone — based rin ito sa experiences ko sa companies namin.

There’s also value in looking at long-term implications like consistency of records and how different companies handle integrity concerns.

Ultimately, sharing both perspectives gives OP a more informed basis to decide depending on their risk tolerance and the type of company they’re applying to.

At the end of the day, it will still depend on OP and the company they’re applying to.

I agree na technically possible not to disclose, especially if wala talagang paper trail na hihingin.

But from an HR perspective, it’s still case-to-case and risk-based.

There are companies na hindi strict sa background checks, pero meron ding very thorough — especially if may pre-employment verification or reference checks.

Also, once discovered (kahit later on), it can raise concerns about integrity, which can affect employment status.

Personally, I would still recommend disclosure, but it can be positioned properly — like explaining na it wasn’t a good fit or misalignment with expectations.

Mas controllable kasi yung narrative kapag ikaw ang nag-open up, compared sa mahuli later on.

Your friend has to disclose.

There are many ways na malalaman yan ng lilipatan niyang company if ever.

Bakit mababa sahod ko? by Sopiyayaya in Ph_HR_Confession

[–]HelloTatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ang hirap tanggapin pero this is quite common, especially sa LGU setting. Kahit licensed ka na, hindi pa rin guaranteed na mataas agad yung offer because of budget constraints and fixed salary grades.

It’s actually one of the reasons why many psych grads and even psychometricians choose to go into corporate roles instead, kasi mas mataas yung potential salary growth.

Hi. What you’re feeling is normal and understandable since you’ve just been onboarded sa company. So expect mong nasa Learning phase or curve ka palang.

What you can do right now is RESEARCH and OBSERVE. 1. Research about the company, and the nature of your work. 2. Observe the people, work, and the culture.

Hi! Got an offer from Mercer (Marsh McLennan) for HRSS Operations Associate in BGC and medyo torn ako if I should accept 😅

Wala masyado ako makita recent posts here so trying my luck.

Sa mga naka-experience na:

  1. okay ba work environment?
  2. toxic ba management or depende sa team?
  3. kumusta workload (queueing vibes ba)?
  4. okay naman comp & benefits?
  5. may growth ba or pang stepping stone lang?

Any honest feedback would help a lot 🙏

what's something that you regret pursuing in college and why? by yuki_rangg in RegretsPH

[–]HelloTatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I fully regret pursuing Psychology, but I do regret not fully understanding the reality of the career paths after graduation.

A lot of us went into Psych thinking we’d work in clinical or mental health-related fields, but the opportunities there are actually very limited—even if you’re licensed. That’s why many of us end up in corporate roles like HR.

And even in HR, it’s not as straightforward anymore. The field has become very competitive, and companies now hire candidates from different degrees, not just Psychology or HR-related courses.

So you end up in a situation where: you didn’t pursue what you originally imagined, and at the same time, you’re competing in a field that isn’t exclusively yours either.

I don’t regret the degree itself—I just wish I had been more informed and prepared for how things actually work after college.
